    Hi,

I've been searching for a way to recall fx settings of Scarbee's E-Pianos and finally my choice was host automation.

Thus, I've assigned the various parameters of my e-pianos to host automation. On the Controll Pages of the Kontakt instance inside of Kore, the parameters appear and are working correctly, when moving manually. Also, the positions of the knobs are saved correctly.

Anyhow, the recall with Performance Presets does not work flawlessly. I've not really find a system of how the problems occur yet, but sometimes, the specific parameter in the Kontakt instance is different from the assigned knob, after switching PPs.

Sometimes the sound even changes, by just opening the instrument inside of Kontakt, as if the information has been blocked before.

    Is anyone experiencing similar problems?

    Best regards,
    BurtaN

A workaround for this issue is the reaktor toolpack and using Midi Automation instead of Host Automation. The problem of Midi is that it is just one-way (changes inside of Kontakt using the gui, won't change your Kore knobs)

    Enables?

Hi Burtan, are you out of curiosity enabling/disabling the kontakt instance at all through these pp changes? The reason I ask is that if you are switching from a pp with kontakt disabled, to a pp with kontakt enabled, kontakt may not catch some automation.

The problem is this, potentially. Nobody knows on pp recall what the order or priority is of how data is sent to plugins. Are bypasses sent before or after automation data? If after, then your kontakt instance might miss an automation update while turned off. An ideal scheme would have bypasses sent first or anything kore side, then data sent to the plugins.

I have asked for this before, and I still don't know how all the data types are scheduled on pp recall...it would suck if it had to do with the order it was assigned or something...

    Curious,

    Hi Sleen,

unfortunately, the bypass option is not enabled, thus the problem must be inside of Kore(?). However, When the Kontakt (or another plugin) instance is in a sub-channel (I don't know how to call it, I mean a plugin instance inside of a Kore Sound), and the parent channel is disabled, the sub-channel does not receive any information.

    Hi again ;)

I've just experienced that Midi Automation isn't working reliable. This really f**** my whole e-piano setup. I wonder, how you solve this sleen. If I remember correctly, my "master performance" is similar to yours. I've got several source channels, which midi signals are processed differently ending up in different channels which allow my to trigger multiple instrument banks inside of Kontakt with just on incoming keyboard signal. I really love this configuration as I am extremly flexible.

Panning and volume of these instrument banks is controlled by User Pages, which use the Reaktor Toolpack Kore2Midi because host automation of instrument banks' volumes inside of Kontakt is buggy. However this ended up as a reliable solution.

Motivated by the missing feature to recall fx setups of scarbees e-pianos inside of Kontakt, I did the same with those fx settings as describe in the previous posts.

There are some bugs (missing of selfevident features) of Kore 2 which really limit my creativity in creating the best setup and slowly I'm wondering, if they will be ever fixed.

    - Only 127 PP
    - No User Page Recall with PP
    - Buggy Recall of Kontakt settings

Well, I'm just a little bit frustrated now....
    Best regards,
    BurtaN

    Hi!

I've just thought of a workaround and came to the idea to delay the midi signals from Kore2Midi so that they arrive Kontakt when the Performance Preset change is finished.

Unfortunetaly my Reaktor knowledge is poor and I've just found a midi delay for notes yet, but I'll keep on doing on this topic and tell you about my progress ;)

And it's again me. Here is my progress:

The problem only occurs when using instrument banks of Kontakt because Host Automation and Midi Automation only changes parameters of the currently selected instrument inside of the instrument bank.

This is why parameter recall inside of Kore does not work, if a program change inside of the instrument bank is connected to this. Kore at first sends the host automation and after that the program change signal (which is good because User Page parameters saved with a PP do not affect the specific preset of a plugin after this one is recalled, however this is not the cased for Kontakt). The result is that the specific instrument is not selected in the instrument bank, when the parameter signal comes, but directly after that selected by the program change command.

The work around with the delayed Midi signal should fix this, I'll keep on digging in this.

Edit: According to my first attempts, the delay is working great :)
