Host Transport Control doesn't work with Komplete Kontrol MK2 due to NI removing MCU support

It's a multicontroller extension. It supports MCU, OSC, Midi, KK Mk1 and Mk2 and whatever. And it works. And the developer is very helpful. And he give that for free. Shame NI.

Yeah, shockingly it offers all of the features that the Ableton Live deep host integration offers with KKMK2, Uwe303. I'm as surprised as you are. Did not see this one coming.

I certainly didn't expect us to still be sat here waiting for official support at the tail-end of the year. Bitterly disappointed by NI's lack of comment on the situation. Users shouldn't be forced into changing their entire workflow due to neglecting such a simple feature in their software. The MK1 had it, how hard can it possibly be to add? There's community-rolled support for MK2 on Reaper, it's looking a lot like industry politics shaping NI's behaviour.

I am very curious about how host integreation will work with my new A49. But i don´t need that much, just the quick controls in cubase if i switch to midi mode and for more stuff i have my mcu template for maschine studio. But that is one thing i also don´t understand, native has only an mcu template with a few functions cause they are really the same on every daw like volume=pb wheel on different midi channels and so on. So you have to make one for every daw, one person could do that in one to two days per daw i would say and that would help people a lot to be able to control the daw with maschine. The mcu protocol is old but still usefull and maschine (mk1,mk2,Studio, i guess mk3 too) supports the display, so you seeTrack names, plugin names, knob names - values.
So they programmed it in the display side of maschine but then don´t make mcu templates?? That makes no sense to me at all - sorry native.

That's absolutely shocking. I like NI products, but they don't seem to give two hoots about legacy products. I was thinking about KK2 as an upgrade from my Novation 25, but the new Novation SL ML3 looks a more all rounder. I really like the idea of NKS integration and scales given I use Kontakt more than any other NI instrument, but KK2 it just seems too limited in its application?

Depends on your workflow really - for me the novation wouldn't make sense but if you also have external gear, maybe some modular stuff then it is better for you. But in my case I use mostly maschine stand alone and use native products the komolete A49 is my choice and I hope it will work well together with my maschine studio and cubase that I use for only mixing. But like I said I can't understand why they don't make templates and scripts if needed for DAWs, in my case with cubase it was easy to make my own mcu template but it's not that easy in every DAW if you want deep integration.

Yeah really depends on what you use and how.

I feel for those that have had the MK1 (which I stuck with and still enjoy) and decided to move to the MK2 but don't use the now limited list of supported DAWs without a way to use basic MCU function. I'm pretty much a dedicated Live user so it doesn't affect me and the use of KK within Live is brilliant. The new SL MK3 looks nice, but is really aimed at the hardware folks with all the dedicated features for synths. Within a DAW it would just be another MIDI controller, tho with more physical controls.

Smh i paid $600 for the most basic midi controller to use with FL Studio in April and the year is almost over with no update. On a positive note, it forced me to finally learn more about maschine software and my mikro mk2 thats been collecting dust for a couple years. I still prefer FL and would rather use it over maschine. Got ableton live 9 lite installed as well. Going to focus on it as soon as I get maschine down pack.

NI is wrong for putting this off for so long and disrespectful for dropping another series of controllers as well as other products without addressing current issues. Customers deserve the experience they purchased this controller for point blank.

Forgot to mention I setup some controls for FL, play/stop, rec, etc using the buttons above the screens after watching a YouTube video.

I'm holding them to their word, Kymeia. They should have never released the keyboard without a working & built-in PLAY button.

Also, I mapped my Jam to Transport controls. It is just easier to use the keyboard - which is my main production hardware device - while using S1.

Foshiggity. Were you just showing that you got your A-Series working in S1?

Yes (tentatively - still exploring but it looks like the DAW driver outputs proper midi - which makes sense since it doesn't have the screens for the deep integration stuff to work anyway)

I wonder, if the reason of Studio One not being supported by KK MK2 depends on the NI or Presonus? Is there something that Presonus could do to adapt its software for using with KK MK2? Or they cannot do anything before NI does something?
And, does anyone know, how things are going now? Have they started working on the issue?

P.S. Can the reason for Studio One not being supported because Presonus are Steinberg's direct competitors???
