And how about creators of patches do videos or screen casts for ensembles, showing off some of their features, and how they can be used in song making... posted free on youtube?

ok.... apparently NI are thinking about adding some sub-forums and changing somethings with a number of their forums. we have put forward this idea and the relevent person is thinking about it ;-). i hope they implement it. i doubt if that will happen before the new year.

anyway, i am sure that kid_sputnik, clist and myself will chase it up as we think it is a great idea.

but maybe you already have some specific questions about making music with Reaktor?

I think this is a great idea. I use Reaktor regularly, just not consistently. What I mean is that most of the time I'll be searching for that perfect (or near it) sound and I'll just ramble through all of my ensembles till I find the right one. I have only the most basic understanding of my ensembles as far as which ones are best idiomatically, e.g. I use Grobian for drum n' bass noises.

    ;-)

use the wonderful User Library uploads created by Kev Hopper and Phil Durrant. sprinkle with a dash of Kreie's Organol (and clusterbasher) and add lashings of Zobel squelch (especially Ouzo).

never connect the laptops (such as MIDI or OSC) just use you ears and timing (pressing the start button) to lock the tempos.

have fun and enjoy using formant filters because they make breakbeats sound like burping.

always use your own samples - either created using other Reaktor ensembles or home field recordings.

and yes, create your pieces by jamming/arguing/finding solutions.

That's what I've heard too. I also made the suggestion, but not necessarily just dealing with Reaktor but with NI instruments in general.

I think Rick covered all my questions. I'm still waiting for the answer about the hot Brit Chicks :)
