You'll need to contact NI <<< to get the first serial unregistered so the person you sold it to can use it.

As regards the new serial I think you can just go into Maschine in the Service Center, take the old serial out and put the new one in.

why don´t you just give the new key to the customer of your old maschine?

Couple of things I can think of:
    - warranty problems with new controller
    - upgrade discounts or offers being made to MK2 serial owners and not to MK1 serial owners

I'm not entirely sure that NI allow you to sell Maschine but retain the registration license but yeah, you'll have to unregistered your '1 license via NI support and activate '2 via service centre I would think.

Though, in fairness, if you upgraded to '2 via '1 then are you even entitled to sell '1.
That is to say, if I upgrade to Komplete 8 via Komplete 7, I'm not permitted to sell '7.

You should pass your Maschine 1 serial to the person who bought your Maschine hardware really...

I thought as much but I've been a little out of touch on these things.

I tried to figure this out when I went from a Mikro to a full size Maschine.

I just ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Maschine software so service center would let me enter the serial for my big Maschine.

Kind of a pain but I didn't feel like waiting for support. If I ever sell the Mikro I will have them deactivate the serial for it.

Yeah, you need to put in a service ticket to get your serial unregistered. If you wanna expedite the process you can submit the ticket and then just call them on the phone and they will do it immediately.
