I opened an old song in Logic, and it used Absynth 3, which can't be found. I've changed computers since the song was created, and the plugin is in a backup directory but of course that isn't recognized. Absynth 3 is installed according to the NI software, but can't be found. I would have hoped that Absynth 5 would have automatically replaced the Absynth 3 instance when I opened the song, but it didn't.

I just want to re-download and install Absynth 3. How can I do this? The original CD is long gone. I would be fine with using Absynth 5, but switching the track to use that loses most of the information on the track.

I tried uninstalling according to the NI directions, but still shows up as installed, so I can't reinstall.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Ok, I guess Absynth 3 won't run on an Intel Mac. Is there anyway to have Absynth 5 run in an Absynth 3 compatible fashion? Meaning when I open the song, it automatically transfers settings to Absynth 5?

I assume you have a NI account showing you have Absynth 3. Perhaps you can download from your account. Otherwise there is some Absynth 3 downloads here: - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/update-manager/ - but i'm not sure it's the full install. I assume it is, but you have to check it out.
Off coarse you'll need your activation code.
You have to log in and search for Absynth 3 to download.
If you are missing something then you can allwayes try to ask NI if they can help.

I think you'll have to shift the Absynth 3 plug-ins in your projects. The name is different. I don't know if it's possible to copy Absynth 5 and rename it to Absynth 3, and then the renamed Absynth 5 will be loaded. But perhaps it's worth a try, unless you install Absynth 3. After all many things have changed so perhaps Absynth 5 will not work as Absynth 3 did.
Would be nice to know if you try this out, if it did the trick or not.

    Hope this helps.
