What do you mean when you say turn wav into midi? Are you trying to take analog audio and convert that into midi signals to trigger a software instrument? Maschine cannot do this, you'd have to use Ableton, FL Studio, Melodyne, or some other software.

IMO this really doesn’t need to be something added to Maschine. I’d take aftertouch support in a heartbeat over WAV to MIDI.

Melodyne Essentials is $99 and will do what you want. Then you can take the midi pattern extracted from the audio and do whatever you want to it in Maschine. I’m sure there are other utilities, possibly some that are dedicated to just converting WAV to MIDI. They could be cheaper or free, idk.

Do some searching or grab Melodyne.

There is plenty to find on Google.
I'm not waiting to have it in the machine software

What is 'WAV TO MIDI'? You want harmonic content converted into MIDI notes?

You will need a pitch analyzer. Logic, Live, Melodyne etc will do this. Maschine doesnt do that kind of thing. However, you can chop a sample and the Maschine will place MIDI notes in the sequencer for those chops

What exactly are you trying to achieve, OP? Because “wav to MIDI” is a bit vague

Well if you don’t want to learn tools that will do what you ask and are affected by the visual appeal of a GUI enough to not even want to look, last option would be to use your ears and brain to listen to the wav and play it in midi.

I don’t really understand this reply. Who cares what Melodyne looks like, if you only want to use it to convert WAV to MIDI then the workflow to do that in Melodyne is like 5 mouse clicks. You’ll barely be looking at the GUI.

Honest question: is there an answer that you accept short of ‘Maschine can do this/will be updated to do this’? Plenty of options have been presented here, it just sounds like you’re not willing to learn or do anything in order to achieve your goal other than demand NI do it for you.

IMO they should spend their time working on things that don’t have numerous superior 3rd party workarounds.

Do you have FL Studio? If that is the case then do your conversions there, save your flies, and them drop/import them into maschine. If not, then you can do what i do...........use my ears to listen to the wav then play it in midi. Sometimes i get a better result, or i am inspired to come up with something a bit different than the wav i was trying to replicate.

Learning different ways to do things in different programs and DAW’s will do wonders for your creativity in the long run.

All programs have positives and negatives and unique points.
I would invest in FL studio because it’s a great program and cross platform. You can extract a midi score from a audio file .wav in a few clicks. It offers tremendous value at £199 for the producer edition

If your a Apple user then get Logic Pro you can also convert using flex time audio to midi also the stock plugins and fx (especially the metering) are second to none that are included with it again for £199.

I’m not saying your never have to learn a plug-in or buy a synth again because the more you play and develop you will want some more toys
