How do I drag midi from a group in Maschine 2.0 into a singl midi channel in Logic 9?

Agreed. This used to be dead easy....

 

Just updated to 2x and I am so glad I bought it 2nd hand and half price because it is now sitting unused and waiting for 2.1

I really have absolutely no idea what NI where thinking when they removed single midi file export.

What a complete backwards step... and why this hasn't been fixed already is also way beyond me.

2x seems to have some nice features but with the complete sacrifice of workflow.

Here's hoping 2.1 arrives real soon.

 

Did they ever update 2.0 to in include Drag Midi in to Midi Notes. Looks like they did not do it with the latest up date of 2.2.1 or am I missing something?

if you mean dragging a Drum MIDI Pattern - using up to 16 Sounds - on the same MIDI Channel. 'Sounds To MIDI Notes' is an option.

I figured out how to drag the Sounds to Midi Notes - thanks! I used this function all the time in Machine 1 - the problem is that its not set up to play all the sounds automatically. When I did this in Machine 1 - I would click on another scene and the pattern that I drug would play. For some reason in 2 - its not set up right.. any help?

You need to setup MIDI input.

Native Instruments wants Maschine to become a staple in sequencing, that's why they make it so hard. Midi capabilities with Maschine have been a known issue since it was first introduced, especially inside Logic.

 

Yes this was what I was after. I think at the time I asked, there wasnt a group midi drag.... or at least, one that was working inn logic. Works great now!

 

Hi guys i just watched the video that Jiloo posted and i got everything working fine but the last few steps when i try to export a melody it only plays the root note of that melody all the other notes show up but i get no sound any ideas? I've followed the video multiple times but i can seem to figure out what I'm doing different or wrong.

 

if one of the sounds plays a melody, i copy that into another Group and use Sounds To MIDI Channels.

I've done that but I get the same result I Dnt kno what I'm doin wrong! I'm stuck and production has hit a big wall a have so many rough maschine drafts that need worked on in ableton but I can't do anything with any key sounds!

 

did you change the Sound so it was in Keyboard Mode, so you can see all the different pitches?

yes i did and i can see the different pitches in ableton but only the root note ones are played the others won't produce any sound

 

i figured it out! what i was doing wrong was turn on the active option in the group input midi tab.
