    Hello,
I'm running KOMPLETE 12 ULTIMATE on a 64bit Windows 10 PC along with 40 other already installed 3rd party and NI products and have 102 still to download (which I don't need all of) however, I have maxed out the available space left on my internal hard drive and can't load any more and want to move these products to my external SSD hard drive but I'm not sure exactly how to do this. These have unfortunately all installed in C:\Users\Public\Documents.

Do I move just the 'contents' or the 'contents' and the VST's? Will changing the 'content location' and or the 'VST plugin locations' in preferences and doing the "repair location" in Native Access free up space on my C: drive? Do I just cut and paste the folders?

In this video https://support.native-instruments....in-Administration-on-Windows-Computers-VIDEO- it says, "its very important to choose earlier defined install locations for both 32 & 64 bit versions of the plugins and stick with them" so I'm a little confused.

Would one of you more experienced users please guide me, I'm afraid if I stuff this up it will render none of my existing compositions to work.

Below is a couple of screen shots of my drives.

    Thank you in anticipation,
    Richard.

Hello at first I would try an extended drive clean, by right clicking on the drive c in file explorer then go to Datenträgerbereinigung - erweitert oder so, then check all the points, especially the win backup can be really huge over time. If that does not help you have to find out where the space is gone/used for. Then decide to uninstall or delete something.

    Hi Uwe,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm running a heap of other applications on this PC music, video, photography, CAD and drawing applications which take up a lot of space. There isn't a problem with the C: drive it's only 512GB and just full.

I was hoping that instead of loading the NI products onto the C: drive I would start loading them onto my external D:drive which is new and empty and move the already installed content from the C: drive onto the new D: drive to have it all in the one place, I'm just unsure about doing this correctly.

Can I just cut and paste the folders from the C: drive onto the new D: drive then go through the Native Access repair and relocate?

    Cheers,
    Richard

    Just look the link

Ohh sorry that was osx only but you can copy and paste kontakt libarys and relocate them via native access like this:

    https://support.native-instruments....ereits-auf-einer-externen-Festplatte-befinden

And like I said above try the Datenträgerbereinigung - erweitert (windows disk cleaning)

Ahh and after that open kontakt stand alone first so that the program can scan the libarys.

How to release unused unwanted old system files?

Move EVERYTHING you need in your download folder to somewhere else/safe
Delete all content in your temp folder. c:\user\YOU\appdata\local\temp (might be hidden so choose view at top options view and clikc on show hidden files folders drives)
Delete old drivers folder for example c:\AMD these are no longer required
Left click My Computer/PC open up your drives right click C Drive (root) and click properties at the bottom.
Click on DIsk clean up select all and click ok delete
Click Disk clean up again but this time click "clean up system files" click ok

you might be surprised how much CRAP you are deleted

DId you tried any applicaton to find hidden files and free up disk space? Like - Dissy - powerful disk space visualizer that helps you quickly find files and folders that take up the most disk space and, if necessary, delete them from your computer.

if you are an active user and store a lot of data on your machine.

Different services can offer you different solutions, such as buying an extra disk or cloud storage and more. But all of them are not free, and you will need to spend a lot of money for some storage extensions.

But this free soluation i hope will help you a lot.

Clone the 512gb drive to 1tb ssd disk then expand partition
