I'm on Windows 7. I've uninstalled Guitar Rig and tried to uninstall the Rig Kontrol driver via the Control Panel. Yet my audio device menu still shows the Rig Kontrol 3 driver and well as Guitar Rig Mobile I/O and Guitar Rig Session I/O. I want to remove all three of these permanently from my system. Any help appreciated!

Thanks for the advice! It didn't help in this case, but it's great to know about this feature. I found a bunch of duplicate drivers. But none of the NI drivers were listed. I've also been digging in my registry a bit and I'm amazed by how many NI files I found in there. I haphazardly removed anything that looked remotely related to Guitar Rig but still no luck. My goal is to phase out and remove all NI software from my computer and now I see that really cleaning out every NI file is going to be one hell of a scavenger hunt. But for now I'd be happy to get rig of these drivers. It's driving my nuts, pun intended.

Yeah, this is usually a Windows thing because, as example, if you plug a USB-device into a different USB-port, the device-driver is usually installed again for this specific port ...

If you haven't already, you can also contact NI support about this.

Yeah, and then if your computer thinks you have 10 MIDI devices, which is really just two or three with duplicates, it won't install new drivers and you have to delete some. I had that issue with my nanoKontrol 2. I deleted the duplicates from the registry, I didn't know I could use the device manager.

I've uninstalled all NI content from my computer and scoured my system looking for anything NI-related. Amazingly I cannot get rid of these drivers. I've also downloaded and installed the drivers again so I could uninstall from the control panel. Nothing works.

I've contacted support, so I'll see if that helps.

I've just had this issue. Guessing it was because I mistakenly let Service Center install GR for a change and so it installed all the drivers too. I got rid of them by searching for and deleting their registry entries. But later found that their .exe installer/uninstallers might have been in a sub-folder in the ProgramData directory. Might be worth looking there first before registry editing if anyone else has this issue.

I got everything I could find that looked NI related out of my registry and I was amazed to see the drivers still present. Same with ProgramData and AppData. When I contacted support, they asked me for a screenshot. Lol. I never got back to them, but I solved the problem by getting a new system and never installing GR on it, so that takes care of that.

    Hello,

I use "Everything", "RegistryFinder", and "RegOwnershipEx" - all portable apps...to get rid of any/all orphaned data.

Works "like a charm" - each and every time.
