I know this is a very basic question (and I promise I have tried) but how do I install .nki files into Kontakt Player.

I bought a magazine called "MusicTech" here in the UK. On the cover disc were a load of samples - the one in particular I am interested in is called RockBlues&JazzGuitars.

The zip file that gets installed on my HD (which I have subsequently extracted to a folder) contains a series of folders containing a load of very good samples and in addition a folder that says "MTM Guitar Kontakt Patches". Inside this folder are a load of files that have the file extension .nik (which I know is the Kontakt file extension) and look like they relate directly to the samples that are in the other folders.

SO I thought what happens if I double click on one of the files? Well it tries to load Kontakt 4 player bur then I get a window saying it cant find a load of samples. I also tried going into the Library tab of the player and selecting the folder that contains the .nik files but it just says that no library files exist.

Now I KNOW I am missing something simple, but please can someone tell me what it is.

Hm, seems like the NKI patches have wrong references to samples. You need to do a batch re-save (I dunno if K4 Player supports that). Click on the File icon, then select Batch re-save, then point to the folder where all the NKI files are, Kontakt will search for missing files. After it finds everything that's missing, it will ask you for the location of samples. Just point to the folder where all the samples are, and Kontakt will fix the references. Then it should work.
