I have some samples from differnet sources. I want to know how to make an instrument from the sampes. I'm giving a few scenarios below

    1. SAmples are marked xxxc1 xxxc2 xxxc3 xxxc4
    2. samples are marked rtc1 rtc#1 rtd rtd#1 rte1 rtf1 rtF#1
3 samples are marked cabvash1 cabash2 hihatopn hihatclsd hihat

Assuming I'm making three different patches 1,2,and 3 from the above - How do I make an instrument from these different types of sample files?
Some files are across the keyboard, some files are layers.

    Thanks

Go to file, new instrument. Then click the wrench and open the mapping editor. From there you can drag your samples to the appropriate keys.

You can do some auto mapping if you right click (pc) in the mapping window. Its a tedious process if you have a lot of multi- samples,.. etc.

Another way to learn how to do deeper instrument making is to load something from the K3 library and pick it apart.. groups, round robin layering, etc..

Great idea. Tedious, interesting, but great. Guess those are the dues.
    Thanks !

I own Keymap from Redmatica, it seems a little easier than Kontakt;s mapping editor.

Yep, I've never used it but see a lot of Kontakt owns say it's great for that.
