Effects only work when in internal Traktor mode, no hardware effects on this mixer, except for the filter.
So when playing vinyl or cd's it is just a 2 channel mixer.

Not really aimed at turntablists because battle mixers have a lot more free space between faders and no buttons around the fader area.
The faders have no lag adjust (cut in time) and no tension adjust, there is no reverse button for the upfaders which are very stiff.
The crossfader is better but I would swap it for a Innofader Pro which you can adjust to you personal taste and really is one of the best faders outthere.

I worked my first club gig in 1984 looking over a couple of 1200's and a Cintronic SM-330 (no crossfader) but it did have a VU meter! The impedance on my sennheiser's were too high to give me any cueing volume so I used the VU meter to detect the beats. Beatmixing was something we did by choosing the intro and phrasing it to the instrumental break of the live 12" after we had spent no more than a minute fine tuning with a push and a flick on the analogue pitch controls. It was great fun and artistic.
I'm illustrating to you young bucks with this little snapshot in time how far things have come. The z2 is a brilliant mixer aimed at those who want great control over a mega software package that allows you more time to select your breaks and tracks and gives you awesome flexibilty to cut, sample and beatmix with speed and professionalism.
Most mobile/home jocks (90% of us) want the two channel battle type. I can see how there are some fader isses but moreover it gives you accessibility to the great functions of Traktor so you don't have to use that damn mouse looking like you're checking your emails when you need to be setting the example and dancing while DJ'ing.
Get it into perspective guys, you're all very, very, lucky.

There is a way to do this. click Deck A/B and choose Live input instead of Track deck. (u dont have to mess with the on/off switch to analog vinyl mode) all u have to do is map the tap button and then tap along to get the right BPM to sync traktor fx when playing analog vinyl :D

    hope that helps!
