what i mean is simply taking a sample that is un-edited and making a clean loop from it, on hardware samplers there is a function called 'from' that you start the playback of a loop from and the loop plays through the end and back to the beginning so that you can see how clean it is. on maschine what method do you use for the same thing, can you please tell me in steps?

btw what i'm working on is a guitar solo that is about 6 bars long.

Enter Sampling mode, and adjust the start and end points of the guitar solo with knob 1 and 2. Easy Peezy, read the manual.

i'm sorry maybe I wasn't clear, I know the procedure but what are your methods for auditioning the looppoint for a clean loop while working on a long piece of audio?
you know having to audition the loop from the very beginning is tedious at best.

You're going to have to listen to the entire sample loop to determine if its clean or not, so auditioning from your toggled Start Point seems pretty necessary, despite it being tedious.

Have you tried recording the guitar sample into the pattern arranger so it loops continuously, then go back into sampling mode and tweak the start point until you hear a clean transition?

so you saying you try to find a way to audition just loop points part in sustaining sound (or whatever it is) on maschine controller, I dont think maschine has special transport to do that like Sound Forge can, even though you try tricky part-use Slice edit mode, it wont loop the slice part so you wont be able to hear sustaining loop ->"clean loops" like you mean above, use external sound editor.

i'm trying to mimic the feature on the mpc where when you're in the sample edit window you can turn loop on, and then start listening to your sample from close to the loop point. on the mpc this feature is called the 'from' feature. this feature is so that you don't have to start playback of the loop from the very beginning each time while you are getting it right. it's not a sequencing feature , it's a sample edit window feature.

I have posted this as a feature request many times. what your refering to is the play from X and play before x / play after x feature... do a search you will see it has been requested. and I don't think it will be implemented until the sampler is overhauled. :(

what's your work around flux302? I'm amazed that nobody is having issues making loops. I don't do it visually I do it with my ears.

I do it with my ears as well. you just hold the loop part down for now. it can be a pain. or I use kontakt.

oh and technically since maschine is not destructive you can move your loop point over to where you want and while holding the pad down adjust just the loop point but it's still not the same as directly being able to just hit play from x point

Many of You Maschine Users have looked at this thread if you would like Native Instruments to Implement A feature like this please find Flux's request add yours to his, this is a feature for fine tuning long loops, this feature which is already in all of the MPCs is great for working on very long loops that you use for remixing, edits and a host of other uses so please support this feature request it will help everyone.
