Isn't there a mixdown renderer to the sequencer somewhere?

    How do you do it?

    John Nowak et. al :

Your "what?" statement made it perfectly clear to me that my question was not clear, let me rephrase it and maybe somebody can help me out.

I run Cubase 5 VST through a KORG OASYS soundcard, however, I also have an EMU APS card that I use as well that lets me utilize my EMU library of SoundFonts. Hence the palette I use when making music... The Reaktor synth is running as a VST instrument through Cubase.

My initial problem may be that Reaktor is running through my EMU APS Soundcard (which I also use alongside my KORG OASYS.) All the synth sounds rendered through the OASYS are recorded into Cubase when I record them from my internal mixer output into the sequencer.

In order to capture EMU Soundfont sounds, I HAVE TO SWITCH TO THE EMU APS Soundcard. Then I can record my EMU Soundfonts. This is all when I mix down to audio tracks.

PROBLEM: REAKTOR does not get recorded from the Mixer Outputs of the KORG OASYS in Cubase, nor does REAKTOR get recorded when using the EMU APS mixer outputs.

However, I can hear it when it's played through the mixing board... yet when I route the sound from my mixer back into the card it doesn't record. Yes my Card is Full-Duplex (it's an EMU APS, did I say that already, :).

If anybody can give me the answer to my problem I will write a song specifically about them and post it on an mp3.comlike website. :) You will forever be remembered for aiding me in this grueling situation.

Thanks, merci, danke, jvala, gracias, grazie, koszonem!!!!!

    Albert

With E-mu/SoundBlaster cards, make sure the"what you hear"option is enabled for recording.
    OASYS-I'm not sure...I can't run one on my machine(XP).Why,Korg?

I'm not sure i understand you correctly but,if you are running Reaktor as a Vsti why not record (renderer) it as any other vsti with the "export audio " button in cubase mixer?

    Si Correcto. Like the man said (if I may help clarify a bit) you should *NOT* be trying to;
    a. record sound coming out of your soundcard.
    b. render sound to be recorded in Reaktor with reaktor

...if you're running Reaktor as a VST in cubase. You use cubases's internal mixing and recording modes to let cubase do the "rendering" to itself. The same applies to any other VST instruments.

Wish I could be more specific but I've been using Reaktor stand-alone for the past 3 months and have forgotten all of my slef-taught cubase stuff from this past winter.

I don't use a lot of Cubase VST instruments, so I didn't know I could simply have them rendered in audio by doing the "Export Audio" feature.

Thanks. Expect a song of praise soon... :)
