How does Scratch work

    Sorry, I know this is a stupid question, but I have only used TP and never TSP.

    How does TS get information from the TS vinyls to control song play back?

    Do you need an additional or anything to get positional data from the vinyl?

    There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers ;)

    To put it simply timecode vinyl plays a signal that is recognised by the Soundcard/software. This software tracks the speed of the signal as well as markers throughout that gauge the position of the needle on the vinyl relative to the track.
    This is all reflected in the track that is playing.
    So long as you have the software, a soundcard and vinyls you're all set.

    I'm still in awe of this technology, quite frankly its brilliant. Probably the biggest innovation in DJ'ing since the Technics turntable :)
