So I turn on my mk3 hardware.
Then I launch the Maschine 2 software on my iMac (Catalina).

Then I sit here starring at my screen and twiddling my thumbs for anywhere from 40-ish second (minimum) to 1 full minute (quite often) or even sometimes longer, like 2 minutes (yup, that bad...and I wish I could say rarely, but it happens like 1 out of 4 bootups).

Is this normal? How long does your mk3 + maschine 2 software take to actually get started?

That wait, I should clarify, has the maschine software open, but the cursor is a beachball spinning, and the hardware has yet to 'sync' with the software (still on the default, not connected screens). Then eventually everything connects and I'm in my basic template.

How many plugins have you installed?
Will check my start time if I'm home in an hour.

Thanks for checking. I have no idea how many plugins I have -- a lot. I've been doing electronic music since 2009, the plugins pile up...lost count a long time ago. But, there are many of them, is that possibly what causes the slow startup? Is it re-indexing them every time?

In my case it needs 15 seconds to fully start up. The sheer amount of plugins can be an issue, i have around 80 plugins.
Then you cant do much about it, try to press ESC after starting the program, it interrupts the scan.

Oh i´m on windows but maybe it works anyway

2/3 secs here. was maybe 10 before I add app to Accessibitity/Privacy green list as suggested in another thread... don't know if its a good idea but starts faster for sure..

I didn't know this. Great tip.

I rarely use maschine on my computer. Sometimes I start it up when I'm working on a reaktor effect for M+; and it takes several minutes.

Being able to kill the scan is helpful.

Going from SSD to NVME drive decreases start up time by a lot.

Literally 1.5 seconds if it's loading a blank new project, if it's an existing project then anywhere from 10 to 30sec.
120 plugins +- excluding the huge Waves bundle, NVME SSD. To get a plug-in count just go to your plug folder and search for .VST (.DLL in windows?)

If I install a new plugin the first launch takes about 20-30s the first time, then it's fast again. If Maschine always scans for plugs the slow way at launch then something is wrong, some people rename or move the scanapp temporarily to avoid it then enable it again when installing new plugs.

If you didn't install any new plugins, just press ESC at the splash screen to skip the plugin scan.

I just went through my plugin folders and deleted tons of old & unused plugins -- and Maschine is now loading significantly faster! Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction.

    Brilliant.

5,5 to 7 seconds max, and more like 12.55556666 sec if I don't type ESC.

    thx

I have a Maschine Studio and 364 plugins (without counting Waves Mercury WavesShell plugins) and close to 500 with all the wave shell plugins of both mono/stereo versions on a Windows 10 system and about 4-8 seconds it takes to load if no new plugins are detected. Takes longer if I have installed a new plugin that is being scanned but def nothing over 10 seconds.

Funnily tho, on my macBook 2019 running macOS 10.15 with only about 10 plugins (as I don't use it for production, only testing) it takes slightly longer than 4 seconds to open without anything connected, and that is a completely empty shell of a system.
