Hey, I'm hoping a developer can answer this one...I just bought Komplete 9, and am loving it, but I installed it on my (relatively) underpowered PC. The question is, I have a MacBook Pro, and I'm hoping to build a dedicated audio production PC in the future. In short, I might be upgrading my hardware in the near future and I was wondering if I should hold out on installing Komplete 9 on my current devices because I may be upgrading soon? I don't want my serial's deactivated...

You are allowed to install/activate Komplete on 3 different computers simoultaneously: NI products - how many activations

In case you already used 3 activations and want to activate Komplete on a 4th computer, you can deactivate it on one of the 'old computers'.

    Possible to deactivate? How?

Some published FAQs on this website suggest it is not required, and I don't see how it would be done. Please let me/us know if you have found a way.

How can I install my Native Instruments product on a different computer?
It is not necessary to "deactivate" an existing installation to activate the product on any further machine, but due to the license agreement it is required to uninstall the product from the previously used computer. Please do not create a new account during product activation! Always use the same login (e-mail

address) as your serial number is connected to your

registration account. For information on how to reactivate your Native Instruments product on the SAME computer, refer to this article.

The end user license agreement (EULA) for Native Instruments products

allows the simultaneous installation on two computers (three computers

for all versions of MASCHINE and KOMPLETE), as long as only one

installation is used at any given time.

Please note that Native Instruments reserves the right to disable an account or serial number if it has reason to believe that the license agreement is violated.

As I wrote in first my post, due to the user license, a deactivation on an older computer is (only) necessary, if you already used 3 activations and want to install and activate Komplete on computer number 4.
As example, many users have Komplete running on 2 computers (desktop + laptop)

For a deactivation you need to contact NI registration support.

Thank you. Then that is what I thought, we cannot deactivate. But my impression, or my "guess", is that NI will not block activation on a 4th computer systematically. This I think is what is implied in their FAQs ("It is not necessary to "deactivate" an existing installation to activate the product on any further machine"). But if they notice a serial number being activated on a abnormally large number of computers within an abnormally short time span, they may ask questions and then, I don't know how they will handle it. The normal situation being that they will trust their customers not to abuse the system.
