Hey there... I've got a track I did entirely in maschine, using DIY-song mode.

    http://soundcloud.com/welcome-to-maschine/oscillator-2/s-bCibA

I'm happy with all the movments; still making slight adjustments to the transitions, but its all there.

Now I want to mix it to get album ready.

I've got most of the basses pseudo-sidechained with LFO tool.

Limiter and slight compression on the master track to keep things from peaking.

Everything else is just volume and pan to taste.... I guess I'm looking for advice on how to take this track to the next level, and make it "album" ready. Anyone gone that far with maschine tracks?

Thanks to all who take the time to listen.

transition @ the start needs work in my opinion around 30 secs, the chimes drop out way too suddenly.

Personally i think the part where the guitar is split and you have the "stop" effect is pretty cool (45 sec area?) - do you really need guitar before then? MY personal taste but i'd say no not all.

there's some pretty cool ideas in the track but at the same time it all feels like there are too many ideas - that's my opinion anyway.

keep @ it - hard to assist on any mixing as listened through shitty walkman headphones @ work

I really enjoyed this! So many ideas but you put them together really nicely. Mix wise i'll have a few more listens and put my first ideas down if you like :)

You may wish to make a 'fake' master track in the last group of Maschine or something if you haven't already. It'll give you a bit more control over your submix before it hits the master. You could also then automate things here aswell.

Did you record the guitars straight into Maschine? So many cool sounds going on here.

EDIT: Definite Infected Mushroom vibe here, really creative. If you haven't heard them before check out this track possibly for mixing reference?

So remain silent next time. Whats the point of negative criticism, especially when we all have different tastes? That is just useless.

    thanks for listening

Wow. This is why I love the NI user forms.

Thanks for listening all the way through guys!

I'm not a professional musician, just an enthusiast; I'm mostly making these tracks for my own personal enjoyment, though I want them to sound as good as possible.

I'm proud to say, that nothing you hearing here is from a preset; everything was done more or less from scratch (with exception of a few construction kits for drums, though I preformed all the patterns). I may have overdone it with the quantized stuff, it sounds robotic listen back to it now, but the larger point here was to make some cool synths and bend to a few of my genre tastes (jamband, electronica, dubstep, funk)

This track was done entirely in maschine, massive, fm8, and razor. The only non-native effects I'm using here are sugarbytes (WOW, Turnado, Effetrix) and guitar rig 5 (just for guitars)...

Ryan - I'm sorry you didn't like this track. What I'm doing here is trying to effectively learn how to use the plugins I have, and really work on my sound design.

But everyone else is right; "not feeling it" is not really all that helpful a comment, and judging by some of your other posts, you may benefit from being a bit more thoughtful before you post here.

Pssngr - I record guitar right into maschine and use guitar rig 5. Sometime I chop stuff up, or sometimes I just let it play out. Love the infected mushroom track, thanks for sharing.

So vocals are definitely next; probably some glitched out female vox. Maybe this will help some of the drum N bass sections not sound so empty? Dunno... vox are HARD!

As well, I really struggle with drums, especially with tweaking them to sound right. Any specific advice on drums out there?

And Widowmaker, I totally hear that it gets a bit choatic; I didn't know where this was going where I started, and I think the direction of the movements are definitely indicative of that. That said, I stuck with this track and just pushed through to the end.

Thanks again to everyone for listening! I was surprised to see so many responses in just a few hours!
