    Peace!
I am a registered user of Kontakt 2.2.1 (I realize a newer version just became available but it doesn’t seem the improvements will benefit my particular usage, and besides, I am working on the biggest musical project of my entire life and I would rather not risk incurring some unforeseen problems by upgrading at this particular point in time).

I would greatly appreciate if you would assist me in a couple of matters, as follows. I've already contacted the official Native Instruments support service but they were unwilling to assist so I would greatly appreciate your help.

The most important one is this:
When I composed my MIDI tracks I used a Korg Triton synthesizer and its modulation wheel produces a vibrato effect (as do most General MIDI synths that I’ve used, such as those which are bundled with consumer soundcards). I would like to now play those MIDI tracks in Kontakt and have it produce a similar vibrato effect (I realize it won’t be precisely the same). I’ve read the section of the manual dealing with Modulation Sources but I am still puzzled as to how to achieve the effect I desire. Would you mind explaining it to me in a step-by-step fashion? It seems I need to send the CC#1 Modulation data to an LFO which then is routed to the pitch dial?

Also, it is possible to scale incoming MIDI velocity in Kontakt in the same way that the Kompakt Instrument (which I use with EW/QL Symphony Orchestra) does? I understand that it’s possible to apply compression to the AUDIO output but I would much rather do the compressing to the MIDI data as it enters Kontakt.

    Hi Rev. Eslam,

To add an LFO modulation do this:
    * Make sure the Edit All Groups button is active (red)
    * In the Source section add a LFO (sine) modulator to the pitch.
    * Drag and drop a CC on the horizontal intensity slider of the modulator to automate the intensity of the modulation using a CC.
    * Scroll down to the Modulation section and specify the frequency, or drag and drop another CC on it to modulate it.

Alternatively you could try the vibrato script in the SIPS script suit or the vibrato script by dynamitec.

To scale the velocity you can use the velocity scaling scripts bundled with Kontakt 2. You find them in the script preset menu under Utilities.

    Regards,
    Nils

I'm baffled ---- I have Kontakt 3 and I'm trying to add Vibrato to the electric guitar patch.

I've managed to add an LFO to the source section and I'm getting vibrato but I have been unable to drag a CC on to the intensity slider.

No matter how I drag, or to where, the cursor always indicate that the CC cannot be dropped.

I'm running it on Mac with Leopard.

    Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, I AM able to drop a CC on the FREQ control in the LFO section that shows up so I can change vibrato frequency (which I don't actually want to do) but I can't change the vibrato DEPTH with a CC. It looks like CCs can be dropped on to circular dials but not on to horizontal sliders.
