I'm running Pro53 and FM8 in Standalone mode from one computer.

I'm using a Yamaha KX-88 Midi Controller as the keyboard controller to play both softsynths live.

The KX-88 can transmit on two independent Midi channels.

I'd like to be able to use the KX-88 to control the Pro53 and FM8 on separate Midi Channels.

Is there a way to assign the Pro53 to receive on Midi Channel 3 and the FM8 to receive on Midi Channel 4?

I guess the short question is...How do you assign Midi Channels to a softsynth?

Both of those are designed to receive on channel 1 in standalone. The solution's to use a minihost and run the plugin versions in that.

    Hey ew,
What minihost do you recommend for MAC?

Also, do you know is there is a software package similar to the MUSE RECEPTOR hardware rack unit?

I need to be able to load and layer/split several softsynths across a keyboard and be able to save all the patch programs per softsynths within a "'combination preset" for instant recall.

    thanks

    Hi,

Plogue Bidule is pretty good for this sort of thing.

On the more expensive side there is Kore 2.

    Cheers
