I have my hercules rmx set up with traktor 2 and I have a .tsi map file loaded for it and everything seems to be ok except for the "skip" function. I want it to be able to skip exactly a bar forwards/backwards so it stays on the beat, I had this set up for virtual dj.

Can somebody explain to me how I can do this exactly as I have tried changing it in the settings but don't know how to exactly.

    Your help is much appreciated!

Start by reading the user manual:

    - Section 13.19 - Controller Manager
    - Section 20 - Assignable MIDI Controls

Hey DJ Phatso, I have checked the user manual but it barely gives anything information on how I can change the skip function...
    ---
I managed to go into the mapping settings and under the assignment table I can choose the skip functions resolution to either fine, min, default, course switch. They all change how far the skip function moves but it still doesn't move exactly 1 bar..

    @Ccooper

If you have Traktor installed , you have the manual as well. Check in the Start menu for the Native Instruments folder (PC) or in Documents (MAC).

Hi I have looked at the manual the program comes with but still cannot make the skip function move back/forwards a bar.. is it even possible? I thought a pioneer mixer such as djm 600/800's skip function would move forwards and back a bar, is that true?

Replace the Seek position by Cue/Loop Move.

Then go to Preferences > Decks

    - Set Deck Layout for Size A&B to Advanced.

    - Set Advance tabs for A and B to Move

This will bring up Advance deck setting in the user interface. It will allow you to set the BeatJump to which ever increment you want to use (1 beat in your case)

The first thing you will need to do in controller manager:

    - Be sure the Rmx is selected as Device

    - In the Assignment table, select the Seek Position entries for each decks.

    - For each of them, click Reset in Device Mapping. You will be able to delete them later if you want, but for the moment keep them (see below)

    - Next, click Add In... > Cue/Loop > Cue Loop Move 4 times (one for each buttons)

    - Apply the same configuration previously assigned to the Seek position to each of them.

Once done, you can delete the Seek positions assignments.

    Voilà!

and as a tip, export your controller mappings (bottom left of preferences, no matter what tab). Then you can poke around your controller mappings, learning how everything works by changing things and see their effect, and not loose your old controls.

it's worth spending time digging through controller mappings, you can really enable yourself some personalized tricks... and you won't have to rely on forum responses to help out ;)

was wondering if someone could help ne with my prob...

I am currently using a Hercules Rmx and new to traktor duo 2

All that I want to do at the moment is be able to cue a track and listen to it before I select and then choose my start point through my headphones without disrupting the master track.

Ive done all the right steps to configure it such as download the most updated drivers and tsi file for the MIDI mapping from the hercules website. The crossfader only plays on one side (for examlpe it only plays on the right side with both tracks and only goes silent when i switch it the left side) and cant cue a track to listen to it without playing it on speakers.

Getting fustrated trying to fix if for hours

    Thanks!

    Anyone please help!

Should of said thanks earlier but thanks! All I did was reboot everything and re-install everything and it worked like a charm.

But I still have another problem...

When I'm in Traktor Duo 2 it won't let me scratch the tracks but instead it "lets" me pitch blend them. When I do try to scratch the tracks it completely stops the track and won't let me play another song on which ever side the track is on unless I restart Traktor. I tried scrolling through and fixing the Map of it myself but still can't figure it out. I could care less about pitch blending and prefer to scratch

So anyone that could help as soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it considering I have a gig in a couple of days and will be playing hip hop half of the night...

    Thanks!

NI have changed some things regarding the MIDI mapping of the jog wheels, which consequently creates a problem with the configuration "trick" that was applied for scratching with non-pressure sensitive jogs.

I've been looking at potential workaround, but so far nothing is as good as it was before.
