    Hi all,

I have a Maschine Mikro and I am struggling a little to change groups when playing alive because is necessary to click GROUP and than select the group you want to change (2 clicks). I saw some videos in internet that some guys are changing the group just pressing the button STEP (clicking to right or left arrow). Does anyone knows how to do it? Or has any other tip on how to change groups in the controller Maschine Mikro with only one click (without the need to buy softwares to run in the background). Any comments are really appreciated!

The way I get around this is by making pad 16 your "transition" pad. I learned this trick from "Bass Kleph" on YouTube so check out his videos.

Basically you can add a "beat delay" to a sound or make pad 16 a drum fill, build up, sweep, or some other longer sound that can play out while you hit "Group" and then whichever pad you need to select your next group.

It isn't the best option and I haven't seen anyone switch groups with one click before but if you find that out please share.

Hope this helps you transition from one group to the next a little better.

Hi Smadden, thanks for your observations. I also like a lot Bass Kleph and also saw his comments about this beat delay. This is the procedure I am currently using, but some videos on youtube I observed the change clicking on the STEP button. I have seen already in more than one video, but look this one from Carl Rag and you will understand what I mean (he uses this procedure in more than one video):

If you or anyone knows how to do it it I would be really thankful. Thanks for your comments, I really appreciated.

    Hi Smadden,

I contacted directly Carl Rag via facebook and he was really friendly to answer my question. He said that he uses Maschine as an Ableton controller. Unfortunately I do not use Ableton as my DAW, but the tip stays here if someone needs it.
    :)

Thanks for the update. I don't use ableton either but definitely appreciate you following up. That's cool that he took the time to answer your question. It's amazing how technology can give us access to people and information like never before.

An alternative technique is based on changing the midi template using the shift + arrow (left or right) command. This technique only works with the midi mode but the advantage is that the change of group can be done with a single hand.
For that you have to define a unique midi channel to each group of your project, for example: group A> channel 1, group B> channel 2 etc. And you configure the midi templates so that your templates correspond to the groups that you will have defined in your maschine project. For example: Group A.ncmm2 (channel 1), Group B.ncmm2 (channel 2), Group C.ncmm2 (channel 3) etc. Up to group H.

    If it can serve ...
