How to combine Komplete 10 & 13 Select ?

Hi. I just acquired an KK S25 mk1 for use in combo with my Machine mk3.

Now the S25 comes with an older version of Komplete Select than what is currently installed on the system, I'm interested in getting the 32-bit elements out of this ... without downgrading the 64-bit elements of my current Komplete 13 Select install. What is the smart way of going about this ?

I currently have Kontakt / Reaktor Player 5 installed(+ v6 of both). I interested in getting 32-bit stuff for these + any 32-bit VSTs, without downgrading any existing installed 64-bit material.

Have you just installed everything and looked in your DAW or in the folders, what's 32 bit stuff and what's not? Andy why you want to do that? I was some years back in the same issue, them i just dropped all 32 bit stuff, was a pain in the arse a bit, but worth it for sure. Nowadays even more worth, i would say, cause 32 bit will go for sure out of business.

Normally if you have both versions the newer one (k13) just adds stuff without altering the "older" stuff, i forgot to mention.

Are you sure, you have received older version of Komplete Select than K13S?
As far as I know, and have personaly experienced, one gets current version of bundled SW. It is usually preferable for a new user, but not always.... I faced with this problem as one buyer specifically wanted Guitar Rig 5, and received GR6 instead, which he strictly did not want.....
It is hard to please all folks.....

Instal a path for your 32-bit version out of the reach from Native Access.
So NA can't change it or do I miss some informations about 32-bit.

 

The S25 is new old stock. On the sticker it says made for Komplete 10. After entering the serial in NA, there was initially noting 'not installed'. When I go to the "MY PRODUCTS, SERIALS, AND DOWNLOADS" page, I see I now have an unregistered Komplete 12 Select available for download via NA.

This didn't go totally according to plan, everything is working and I don't know if there is any point in installing Komplete 12 Select, when I have Komplete 13 Select installed. Does Komplete 12 Select contain 32-bit stuff, that 13 don't ?

Edit : I'm up to speed on the 32-bit situation. Weird way of dealing with the issue, but OK.
Question I have now is, does Komplete 12 contain any 32-bit material or did the purge happen before Komplete 13 ?

 

That is understandable if he wanted to use the Rig 3 pedal with GR, it no longer works in GR6 as I've understood it.

 

Are you sure ? I understood it such that K13 during an install removes 32-bits and only updates and maintain x64 bits. You need to tweak some to maintain outdated 32-bits on the system.

 

That is understandable, I do not question it. He explicitly said, he wants GR5 and does not want GR6. I had GR bundled to HW, so he bought that HW to get GR5, as it was not possible to buy GR5 and he could not find any even secondhand. But, after transfer, he received GR6, not GR5. (Fortunately GR5 stayed on my account, and on request NI has transferred it also to his account. I did not ask if he ended up having GR5 and GR6, or just GR5 and GR6 has been removed from his account.)

Concerning your question if K12S has anything K13S does not.... For sure GR5, maybe Kontakt 5.

 

So if you have, lets say kontakt 6 player in both bundles, just an example i don't checked it, it will update the product anyway in native access.

Thanks, I already read it, but it explains the issue. Regarding Kontakt 6, any install post v 6.5.3 automatically removes any dual 32-bit version of it. So technically it isn't the upgraded version of Komplete Select that removes stuff, it is the upgraded version of it's sub components. In this case Kontakt 6 (Player).

 

Correct - it's the product, so then don't update, or use the page I posted to download older installs for 32 bit plugins.

Thanks, good to know. I already have GR5 + Kontakt 5 (Player). After fiddling in the not installed section of NA + "MY PRODUCTS, SERIALS, AND DOWNLOADS" everything is now installed. It is a somewhat confusing process.But stuff works.

At the end of the day my goal was primarily to get the S25 mk1, which is cute. I guess getting K12S instead of K10S should be considered a bonus of buying NOS. Really like the S25 and is hoping for it to work nice in a combo with my Machine Mk3 ... although I read Machine can only handle one controller at a time. Idea is to be able to use a keybed, instead of pads for play at moments. Sure it will be possible to work something out.

 

I hope you have a lot of fun, i love my a49 keyboard with kk software. I can also use the keyboard for the cubase quick controls, if i go through the tracks with the 4d encoder. I only sometimes miss the buttons and the 4d encoder as mappable controls - but this is complaining on a high-level.

No problem to use several different controllers of a type. I use S88/S25, Maschine MK3/Studio and Jam together.

It is tricky to use two keyboards at a time.

 

But i use it now only with maschine and export audio for mixing into cubase. That way I have two devided, and defined(!?) tasks. Otherwise I would never finish a song. I can of course bounce something again but i don't do that that often for obvious reasons.
So I have to make good decisions before I start to mix!!! That kind of deviding the tasks helped me but everyone is different.

Thanks. I was also considering the A-25, but when the opportunity for the S-25 mk1 came around ... I struck. It's real nice to have the small screen below each dial to see what parameter you are adjusting. For my use, which will mainly be playing, it's perfect. I also miss the 4D encoder when using it alone, but I expect to use the mk3 for the main navigation around Machine. I haven't gotten as far as testing the combo yet.
