I am working on a lead patch. I am trying to create flute-ish sound. I am starting with Rainforest Shaku in Absynth 5.

What I want is for the attack of a note to have a certain degree of bend from below. Soft attack would have little effect. But higher velocities would produce a progressively sharper, bend from below. Do you know what I mean by bend from below? So say I press C. I would like the C to be quickly arrived at by first bending quickly from B (or arbitrary source note that I define). But I want the degree of this effect to be controlled by velocity.

    Ideas?

    thanks!

I'm not an expert. But as noone answer you, then i'll try to see, if i can help you a little.

AFAIK then you can't assign velocity or anything else to "Glide".
And you can't have a specific fixed note like note "C0" to be the note as a start note for all glides. But i can't tell for sure.

What i believe you can do is using envelopes for OSC pitch. Like a ramp envelope. And then the pitch for example can be affected from a certain interval below the note you hit.
You can do this using the Envelope breakpoint parameters and the envelopes Control section.
The Breakpoint parameters can be used to set an interval.
The Control sections Time and Amp parameters can be set to be controled by Velocity in the dropdown menues. Then you can get the velocity to control the time rise for the ramped pitch effect.
I can only suggest you try it out, to see if it works for you. I can't tell for sure.

Absynth have so many possibilities, and is'nt allways simple to use or to describe how to use. So i suggest you experiment.
Also you can refere to the manual. For example section 8.5. Envelope modulation page 125 - 126. But the whole Section 8 Envelope Window from page 113 and forward might give you some ideas.

There may be other ways to do similar.

Hope this can help you in the right direction for you to do what you wan't to do. I don't think i can help more than this.
