    Hi everyone,

EDIT: DO NOT BUY NATIVE INSTRUMENTS HARDWARE, REASON:
    PLANNED OBSOLECENCE

I am writing here for the first time, so I introduce myself. I am a software developer from Paris. I work on Linux Debian with a X1 Carbon Gen 7 (2019) and a Macbook Pro 2013 i5 on Catalina 10.15.7.

I use Traktor since about 7 years, when I bought my pair of MK2 for my hobby, and a bit later, the Traktor Audio A6 soundcard just to get fun with mp3. After spending 7 years in Asia, I was pleased to find back home my instruments.

I was able to play my vinyle, but now I wanted to use my sound card. I don't use windows anymore so I tested it on a laptop of a friend and I was able to play smoothly using my saved SERIAL for Traktor Scratch Pro 2.

Unfortunately, since my PC is now running on Debian I had to install the Mac version, and it failed the installation.

After contacting the support a first time, I got told that I had to downgrade (which is not possible in my case, as I use XCode for building iOS React Native application) the OS or pay for an upgrade to Traktor Pro 3 for 50 bucks.

Since I got told my software will work on Mac and I wasn't expecting NI to stop supporting my OS as this company is leading the market with the DJying software, I was compeltely happy with it.

Why do I need to pay for an upgrade for an already paid hardware which is supposed to support mac and windows, and support was dropped for mac?

Why can windows user get the sofware and not mac people ?

What will happen for windows user of Traktor Scratch Pro 2 if support is also dropped ?

And more importantly, I bought the sound card for it's hardware, how can I use it with Linux Debian or Mac OS in order to use my timecoded vinyle ?

Why can't you use a part of your task force to keep maintaining the v2 (without adding features) ? I feel like it would be much fairer to offer the upgrade because of the dropped support for the MacOS.

It's been more than two weeks, and I am still not able to use my Traktor audio A6 soundcard anymore without paying a forced fee to upgrade the software required with it.

Don't buy this CRAP NATIVE INSTRUMENT HARDWARE.

! DO NOT BUY NATIVE INSTRUMENTS !

Hello Tony, on my go I still can't use my sound card, I feel totally ripped off. Fortunately I did not give in to their change and I did not buy the update.

I will never buy again or recommend this brand to anyone. A word of advice, turn to serratos if you plan to continue the mix, for my part, I will continue on Vinyl, at least no hardware problem linked to planned obsolescence.

Mate, 7 years? Thats not planned obsolescence, thats reasonable. You can s h i t on NI for lots of stuff, but not for discontinuing a seven year old piece of hardware that never made sense between the A10 and S4

Also, whining about an upgrade after almost a decade of v2 support? Really?

And yes, linux support would be nice, but its very nieche, thats why they dont do it. But that also wasn't a thing 10 years ago, so why tf are you bringing this up?

No front, but your expectations are pretty fucked up

On a sidenote, its macOS Catalina, not iOS.

wrong forum ! kopax: this forum is related to TDJ2 (the new app on iOS/Mac/Windows) not to Traktor Pro (2 or 3).
Better to post it in the Traktor Pro area or Traktor Audio Interfaces ;)

and honestly to keep you informed: we avoid to use any uppercase bold red letters in our user posts here (and in any other forum).
