Hi all, been so long since I did this I forgot how to do it...

just bought & downloaded 2 future loops massive soundsets....my problem is that I cannot seem to load them so that they play .... am on logic/mac pro... have put them in this position Mac/library/application support/native instruments/shared content/sounds/massive when i then open logic & fire up massive it shows all of the new sounds in the browser but only plays a default sine wave sound...the other banks I have (ie massive extra banks 1 & 2 etc) all play as they should

    can someone please help/advise...

    eternally grateful

    Andy

Don't put them in the Application Support folder. Put them in your user content folder:

    *user*/Documents/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Massive.

The reason why they aren't playing? You probably aren't up to date- the current version's 1.1.5

Hi, thanks for the reply there...did as you suggested but still when i select new sounds in the new banks i just get default sinewave sound....dont understand here...has massive changed so much recently? I have a load of different soundbanks including massive packs 1 & 2 and they all play correctly so i dont understand this problem....i only just bought the new soundsets from futureloops & as far as i can recall have placed in the same location as the massive extra packs 1 & 2 that i bought from NI....just dont get why they wont play when i fire up massive in logic....
please excuse if i come across as a retard...

Just as I said- you have to use the version of Massive that the banks were made with or newer. Patches made with a newer version of Massive won't open with an older version.

And, never put anything in the factory sound location- that can (and will) be overwritten with updates. The NI expansions go there, but that's it.

Hi again,...thanks for this info..so i guess i need to update my massive version to make the newly bought soundsets work correctly? Is it normal to hear only a default sinewave if one is using an older version?.

"And, never put anything in the factory sound location- that can (and will) be overwritten with updates. The NI expansions go there, but that's it." ok, thanks for that...

kinda wish i'd have logged in more often...doh!

Yep- that should fix it. Update to the latest version, start it up as a standalone and rebuild your database from the options/browser page. Done.
