This is a workaround to get Traktor to raise and lower values by itself Without having to hold the button down manually. It only uses a normal knob (potentiometer) and modifiers so It's immediately accessible to a great number of Djs already.

Set your potentiometer to send Channel Change messages, this is important because the knob will send Traktor midi messages from 0-127. Traktor will treat the "zero" point as it would a "midi note off" message and every point from 1-127 as a separate "note on" message.

Now map an inc/dec button command to this potentiometer in Traktor with the "auto repeat" box checked and a modifier condition to toggle the command on and off.

Now if you leave the knob turned anywhere past zero it will be sending constant button presses to whatever command you mapped.

You will observe the knob sending out a bunch of inc/dec commands if you twist the knob while toggled on. To clean this erratic control up I use a modifier on the knob with the control type knob/fader to break up the midi range into different sections for different automatons, but you can adjust for your needs.

In example, if you map the control "tempo adjust decrease" to this knob with the condition M1=7 and have M1 mapped to the same knob then you can simply turn the knob to the full "on" position and it should automatically pull down the tempo fader to Zero. You can control the speed by messing with the resolution or doubling/inverting the commands.

    Enjoy!

Hello Phi. I just can get it. I am a radiobroadcaster and I try to put a talkover on the D-cue knob. I want to press the knob on the cue of D channel on my Traktor S4 to lower the music on channel A,B smooth to -20(this works great). But then,... after speaking,... pressing it or holding it to reset music to zero. But I just can't get the modifier thing work. Can you give me some tips to map this thing? Many many thanks.
