Hey what's up everybody. I'm new over here in these forums, I'm a long time SSL user and I've recently been messing around with TSP. It is a lot of work compared to ssl, but some features I like and will make me use Traktor in certain situations as opposed to ssl. I would like to use Traktor with just my MBP, NI Maschine and run that out of my Apogee duet. The audio 8 is too complex for me to set up. I can't even get turntables to work, so I've listed it on ebay. I'll just mix with the internal mixer. I'd like to map the eq's in traktor to my knobs on Maschine, and I'd like to map the Maschine temp knob to Traktors crossfader. If I can do this, it will be a solid, small little setup. Thanks,

    Hi MC1,

I'm going to be objective here, how complex could the Audio 8 be compared to the SL1?

I've used both and the Audio 8 is just as simple to hook up, if not quicker because of the quick disconnect multi-cores.

What are you having problems with?

I just haven't been able to get it hooked up right I guess. I thought I had it hooked up correctly, and then I play my turntable and I can see it in the calibration, but no sound. I get my cdj 400s to work with midi, and sometimes with timecode, lol. That's why I'm like screw it, I'll just use the internal mixer and use my apogee duet to output 1 source to the mixer or directly to my speakers. The diagram in the manual wasn't very descriptive. I'd love to keep the A8 if I could figure the bloody thing out.

Any word on mapping the crossfader and eq's to the Maschine? Cheers,

I'm working on mappping effects right now but there is crossfade assignment, so you would just add the midi assignment, click learn and press or turn the control you want on the Maschine controller.

Make sure it's in midi mode though.

As for the Audio 8 hookup, I will simplify.

    USB -> Laptop

RCA Connections & Multicores are setup in this manner...

    R/B are inputs
    W/Y are ouputs

This on the Audio 8 connections.

To your mixer is the normal R/W.

The female R/W connections go to your turntables.
Then you can two connections, Mixer Line which is for the line input on your mixer.
And you have the phono connections so you can play regular vinyl by switching to phono on your mixer.

You have to make sure you're in external mode when using the Audio 8. Also, click on drop down arrown under the Deck letters (A & B).

Select Scratch Control from the list, also you might need to click the RST button to calibrate correctly.

If you click on the sticker view, basically the record with the yellow dot it will change to the scope view where you will see the RST button. Click that and you will be able to re-calibrate.
