How can I move a knob in Komplete Kontrol 2.6.4? I have to retype the knob text every time after reassigning a knob at a different location. Is there an easy way to do this?

Same question for moving / reordering pages. How can I do this? Is a keyboard/mouse combination needed?

You can’t. To move a control you have to relearn. To move a page you have to either learn how to use a hex editor or just delete pages and re add in order. Can’t move in KK.

JesterMgee Thanks for your confirmation. I was already prepared about this limitation as it is not documented in user manuals.

    > To move a control you have to relearn.

And re-enter the control text again as it shows the default text after the relearn.

    > To move a page you have to either learn how to use a hex editor

The .nksf fileformat is proprietary encoded with MessagePack and is not the right way to go, even if you know how to use a Hex editor.

    > just delete pages and re add in order.

This is my current workflow and very time consuming.

    I've posted a feature request here: https://www.native-instruments.com/...-feature-requests.228091/page-47#post-2126293

It is possible to move pages with a hex editor, I do it this way but not easy. Would be good if you could do it otherwise but is what it is.

It is up to Native Instruments to implement this basic feature in KK to find a user-friendly solution.
A Hex editor shows many differences and is not a simple Byte patch as you can see in the diff screenshot below:

Yeah no need to show me, been making NKS libraries for 6 years and anything is possible, just not easy.

Do you have information about the current .nkfs fileformat? (structure / Bytes / encoding etc)

Nope, but there some patterns to detect, terminations and enough text to pick thru things to get around. Main thing is you just can’t change the byte length, but you can change the order.
