Hi All.. brand new to the NI ecosystem (and digital music in general)... purchased Komplete Ultimate, Maschine+, and looking at a S88 when stock is available.

I'm an acoustic kit drummer (at least, that's what I tell myself... in actuality, I am a hobbyist , working in a completely different field).

I'd like to reproduce bass sounds similar to those in these songs...
Flea | RHCP | Behind the sun:
Aaron Wills 311 | Feels So Good up to about 2:30
Joe Lally | Fugazi Waiting Room: first 12 seconds: (including the 'scratches' (??) starting at 7 seconds

Please provide any suggestions as to what effects/instruments at my disposal given what is in Komplete Ultimate

    Thx much in advance!

Jay Bass has Slap Bass patches that would be the sound you are looking for... I think there is also a slap bass patch in the Kontakt Factory library... found under Band -> Bass. Not currently aware of any others avaliable with Ultimate

Yeah.. lot's of slap bass at least on the 1st and 2nd song. You're not gonna get anything close to realistic bass on the M+, only in the computer.

Jay Bass sounds like a good choice but if you're going for realism you're going to have to combine usage of both the slap version and finger version, maybe each in a different MIDI channel aswell and doing some reading to understand how to use the keyswitches as they are in charge of changing finger position, articulations, triggering fret noises in between notes and any sort of the muted rhythm noises a bass player can make - Without all of this busy basslines will never sound 'real' (at least for those used to real instruments)

    Heres and exemple:

I think the 'scratch' is the guitar player doing some muted stuff but could also be some sort of perc, maybe drummer hitting the rimshot gently?
