    Hello all,

I am having troubles to set up Reaktor as a plug in or use it stand alone to record ensembles in Logic. For example Skrewell I can see in Logic when used as plug in but somehow I am unable to record it. Can someone show me how to set things up. There seems to be a way to route it via my audio interface but even that was not clear to me. Please consider that I am new to this software and that I used Google for the last 3 hours...

    Many thanks in advance,
    Anthony.

to capture audio of anything like Skrewell or a drum machine in Logic you need to create a loop point of whatever length you want (the top of the sequencer window) and then bounce the audio down (File>bounce)...

this creates a wav/aiff file of the captured audio from Skrewell

    Thanks anyway Spencertron,

I found out how to route Reaktor via the bus. Route the outgoing signal of Reaktor on instrument channel to bus 1, then create an audio track and choose bus 1 for incomming. All done in Logic... I was wrong routing the outgoing channels in the Reaktor plug itself. Okidoki.

    Hi Sowari,

But can you tell me why for example Grooveboxes and Sample transformers are not working as plug ins?

    Regards,
    Anthony.

they use their own Sequencers to trigger the Sounds. you can use Program Change messages in Logic to change the Reaktor Snapshots. if you want a silence so that nothing is heard from the groovebox, i suggest you program a blank pattern in the Groovebox and save that as a Snap, and use Program Change to select it ;)

or you can just record the different snapshots as Audio.

    Thanks Sowari,

    Let me try that.
By now I am on the right track and I discover lots of possibilities.
I have to say: audio quality is not what I expected from routing by bus 1, is that why you prefer to bounce it or are other presets involved?

    Cheers,
    Anthony.

i am puzzled about audio quality when touting to a bus channel and recording. what is wrong with it? make sure the signal is not clipping when you record.

maybe you should try the Bounce idea just to compare.

make sure you have 24bit recording enabled in your audio preferences. that is the only thing i can imagine that would cause it to sound different after having recorded it. latency might make it sound "different" against other stuff in your song, but i doubt that is it. good luck.
