As I understand traktor le doesn't allow recording. I've seen people recommend audacity, can somebody tell me how to setup traktor le to record? I installed audacity but, it's not recording any sound. Which options do I need to select? I have a vextax VCM-100 controller.

    Thanks

    whcih soundcard are you using?

if your are using the internal soudncard i think you can go into asio under the advanced settings, disable all inputs, go from your output to the line in or mic( you might need a y splitter) in (if you are using mic in you need the volume set to a really low level ( mine for example needs to be at 2%)

    Thanks for the reply.

The vcm-100 has a sound card built in. It uses the Maya44 USB Audio ASIO Driver.

This mixer has a master out a monitor out for the booth. I have an RCA jack that goes to a 1/8" headphone jack and I connected the 1/8" headphone jack into the mic into my laptop. I'm able to record like this but, the problem is that it's using the monitor out which corresponds to the headphone monitors as well. So, if I turn the knob to monitor Channel A in my headphones, the software will only record Channel output and same if I move to Channel B.

So, it's not recording the master output it's only recording the monitor output.

The only other thing I have on the mixer is 4 seperate inputs. No more outputs.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I'm not sure if they make this or not but, if there is a Y-adaptor that will let me split two rca jacks. So 2 male to 4 female. So, one rca jack is for the master output then the other have the rca jack with the 1/8" headphone jack go into the mic. Then I don't need to use the monitor booth output.

Is this correct though that I need a 2 male to 4 female y-adaptor / rca jack to do this? Since currently the rca jack I'm using that goes to the speaker system / master out has a 2 male rca jack and then to record and go into the laptop it's a 2 male rca jack to 1/8" jack.

I can't seem to find a 2 male to 4 female y-adaptor. I can only find a 2 male or 2 female to 1 male or 1 female rca. Maybe I'll just go to radio shack and see what they have.
