How would you recreate the synths in Michael Jacksons Billie Jean?

    One instrument at a time.

I'm not trying to be flippant. Out of the millions of sounds that exist out there, Komplete will have a small sliver of them. I don't know if you'll be able to match them exactly. But your best approach will be to take one instrument at a time. Listen to the drums of Billie Jean, then go searching through Komplete until you find the closest match you can. Then do the same for the bass, and the pizz strings, and the other synths, etc.

For example, Komplete will have a few pizz strings patches. I can't guarantee they'll sound exactly like Billie Jean, but if you compare the Komplete pizz patches to the original recording, you can find a way to tweak them to be reasonably close.

And ditto for every other instrument.

I have to do this for a school project. Its only the synths, we already recorded drums and guitars and bass. Next its synths. I have the multi tracks of the original recording. Im just not sure which product from komplete will be best for cs01

Maybe try Retro Machines? That'll have 70's/80's synths in there.

I used a CS80 to play the chords that move against the bass line on Bille Jean.
The bass part was already there when I recorded, so I can't say who played it (I'd guess Phillangaines) or
what synth it was. Sounds like a Minimoog to me.

    I can't believe it's been 25 years. Wow.
