A friend and i will do a B2B concept and thought that we will use the midi to sync our systems. He runs Pioneer DJM 800 and i run Traktor SP on a Mac. (with additional hardware) We want the pioneer mixer to be the master for our midi BPM sync. Is this set up possible? If so..How do we do it.

If the DJM 800 can send a Midi Clock signal, yes, just set Traktor as "Midi Slave"

Hook the midi out from the DJM800 to the midi in on your audio 8, set the clock master to external in traktor.

Mixhard - The connections are there, and i can tell by the A8 that we recieve midi signals from DJM-800. Question is can the DJM-800 send a midi signal for just the BPM. All i can find on the forums is midi, to control the parameters of TSP. But thats not what we need. We just want the master midi clock for BPM sync.
Goonzy - "yes, just set Traktor as "Midi Slave" is that what i refere to as external?
I have tried all the obvious settings. Im no newbie to TSP but this is out there. I luv midi "as long as its working" ;)

You cannot tell it to send JUST midi clock. In order for the 800 to send midi clock you have to click the midi start/stop button on the 800. The display will indicate if you are sending a midi start or stop message. So once everything is hooked up, have traktor set to ext and then hit midi start on the DJM and traktor should pick up a midi clock.

Altho from my past experience with trying to sync my Tr909 to the DJM 800 i used to own, unless i was at whole bpm values the drum machine would drift. Which could be a problem.

I'm having trouble with this as well. The new (ish) MIDI setup in Traktor seems counter intuitive.

I'm trying to sync Traktor to Live's bpm through a virtual port, but Traktor doesn't seem to recognize it. I'm able to get it going from Traktor to Live, but Live jumps around way too much in ext mode, and I was hoping it would be more steady the other way.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm a dolt. I just had to stop/re-start Live for Traktor to recognize it.

you have to add a generic midi device in traktor, input set to the midi input which is connected to the midi out of the djm-800.
also if you want traktor to send a midi clock signal you have to do the same but the output set to the used midi output.
