How to use double soundcard in Traktor Pro

I'm very happy with my S4 MKIII, but I prefer to use it together with my Naim DAC to improve sound quality.

I have an MacBook Pro. In the main audio settings I've created an aggregate device which exists of the S4 soundcard and the Naim DAC. When I select this aggregate device in Traktor everything seems to work fine. I have audio out on both S4 and Naim DAC.

The problem is however that I loose a lot of the S4 features. For example, the pre-listen button which is on the top of the mixer does not work anymore. The same for the cue. They only seem to work when I select the S4 as main device. This makes mixing and selecting new tracks pretty hard.

Is there a way to use two sound cards without loosing the above described features on the S4?

And have you selected in Traktor correctly the audio output for cueing? I must to differ from Main audiooutput.

I am on Win, not Mac, so I cannot forward you better, but I know it should be possible on Mac do it the way you describe.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I managed to fix a part of the problem. I noticed that the aggregate device used my Naim DAC as main device. This only has a L and R out and no Headphones out. Now I selected the S4 as main device and within Traktor I can now select headphones for monitor and cue out.

Everything now seems to work! There is only one thing which does not work yet. In the headphone section on the S4 there are two buttons. One for volume the other one is to mix the volume of the different decks which are playing. This mixing option does not work. You can only hear the sound from the deck which is on cue. Of course you can cue multiple decks, but in that case they all have the same volume.

That mix cue knob takes signal from cue and mixes it with the master signal.
If Master signal does not go to S4, that knob has nowhere to get the master signal from.

I guess mixing of Master and Cues is done in Traktor SW (or may be if set so). So I guess the Cue Mix knob should work even if Master and Cue are sent to different sound cards.
I am on Win, I cannot verify my "feeling".

That depends of the setting. If it’s internal mixing, than Yes. If external mixing - then it’s on your device.

Doing this with a DB4. The annoying part is when you touch any of the faders on the S4mk3 it switches the routing back to the S4. Going to the options and switching back and forth from external to internal and back to external again is the only fix I could find. This is devastating if it happens in a live environment as it cuts out the audio briefly.

It seems that You have something wrong in the settings in that case… check midi mapping and audio settings… in theory this should not happen…
