Hello, I have a MK3 that I'm using partially as my audio device and I'm using FL Studio 12. I want to record audio from my Microphone which is plugged into the back of the MK3 into the Mic Input jack. When I go into FL Studio and on the mixer, select a channel for recording my Mic Input, I cannot find the selection for Mic Input. I'm not sure how I am supposed to record audio from my mic into FL studio. Any ideas?

I also use the ST55 microphone which is a condenser mic. Will the MK3 power my mic?

    No. Preamp is required.

    edit 1:
Select the MK3 in your computer audio preferences. Also select the device in your DAW-preferences. That should work.

    I had a similar question:

Specifically, you need some PHANTOM power!

If you will continue using your MK3 as an interface you should get An external phantom power unit that only does a single, 48v mic signal would run you about $20-$40.

I’d get it either way as you have that portable option with the mk3 built in interface

.....,or just use a dynamic mic so you don’t need any power, just plug and play.

    Hope that’s helps!

Thanks, I think I understand now. It sounds like I have a few options to decide...what do y'all think is the best option?

    1. Keep my condenser mic and buy the Komplete Audio 6 USB interface (or some other audio interface)

    2. Buy a external phantom power unit

    3. Buy a dynamic mic

    4. Return all this stuff i bought and become a trash man

    My Opinion
    It depends:
If you are going to be doing vocals, voice overs, In-the-field recording, then id say get both a dynamic mic AND an interface with decent converters. I say this because you will need more flexibility than just one mic. an Example would be a Shure SM57/8 ($99) + an appogee duet FW ($170 used)

if you are just making sounds, beats and scapes, then it doesn't matter as much (unless you are bringing in audio from external gear {cause you want the cleanest signal}) just get the phantom.

But, in my OPINION, two things:

    1. everyone needs at least one dynamic and one condenser mic.
    2. everyone needs a flexible audio interface that fits their needs (with the best converters you can afford).

    ^^ I +1 this

    Plus keep in mind:
    Condensers are more sensitive.
In studio you get better S/N ratio, meaning lower noise and more detailed pristine sound.

But if you are in a more noisy environment (eg bedroom) that means C. mic will capture more noise (room sound, air).
Dynamic mics come handy in this case, they are "more deaf" so you need to speak closer
    That results lower noise.

As i understand sound module is MKIIIs weakest point.
