How Well Should It Peform?

    Have finally managed to sort some of the popping/crackling issues that have been bugging me lately with regards to TSP but am curious to see how hard some of you guys push your systems.

    Im running the latest version of tsp and Mac OSX (10.5.6) with 2g intel duo processor and 2g ram and notice that if I use a sample rate higher than 44100 and latency under 10ms the crackling/poppling starts and sound quality drops. I know its not the best money can buy but surely it should peform better than that?
    From extensive reading of the other post and set ups I feel I should be getting more.
    Just curious how other simmilar spec mac users are doing as I will happily admit this is my first mac computer purchased purely for tsp.
