Not really, Rape and Trauma Counselors use that phrase (or similar) on victims, so when I read it, it's what I thought. I'm not saying Keir is one, just that my mind instantly popped to that image upon reading that out of place phrase. The first half of the post is all business, where the latter half basically says "I'm here for you". The dichotomy of official and personal comes off strange, and makes me think of how they talk.

My bad if it was worded poorly and got misinterpreted as me calling Keir a name (or a joke), but I can't say sorry for saying it.

but seriously as a Forum Moderator for Reaktor and Maschine, i am comparing how NI have communicated with Maschine users vs Reaktor users. also i have compared the updates.

Maschine is a clear winner in all of those aspects, and i feel that NI should take what they have learnt from Maschine and use it elsewhere, with their other products. this also applies to the Maschine manuals and tutorial videos, which for me are better than most of the other NI products that i own.

Mr Sowari...Although I respect your personal opinion,I would suggest that most of the user's on this Kore forum would disagree with you,because they are feeling more than a little "violated" right now...

If we use the word "rape" in a more metaphorical sense,there's a very good chance that we would also almost unanimously agree that we are being "persuaded" to do something against our will here....

And that is one of the reasons we are saying - "No - we don't want to get intimate with the BIG Maschine at any price now "

Well, rape doesn't always have to do with sex, and even in most case when it does, it usually has nothing to do with it. As teen health put it:

Then you should start to see why the term is more than appropriate.
NI took us by surprise, forcing us into a situation none of us expected nor wanted to be in, with little to no regard for the ramifications. The only options we've been given are to give NI more of our money soon (a customer's only power, $449/€399 more of it and in 5.5 months or less) for something we don't want or to become one with the dinosaurs and other dead things called "history".

Our future with Kore, NI's flagship (and most expensive single product prior to Maschine/Kontrol S4), has been taken away by force. NI used its power to get what it wants, despite what we want. If that doesn't define an asexual rape, then I'm not sure what does.

 

Come on folks - emotions are running high, but discussing this analogy is only likely to get the thread locked.
