    This is *killing* me.

Please, using the mouse (and only the mouse) to browse and select patches & multis is an enormous hassle and is a total productivity killer.

C'mon! What do we have to do? Would whining and begging help?

I don't understand. I was referring to Eastwest VAPOR - a KOMPAKT powered instrument.

I know the limitations of the interface aren't EW's responsibility.

While I'm dreaming - how about allowing MIDI CC control of a few parameters?

I agree with you, even browsing the presets is a pain. I want to control it entirely from my MIDI controller keyboard. Part of this *is* possible out of the box, the remainder requires a bit of work...

Most of the rotary controls and sliders are already available if your Host allows access to them. Chainer provides this through its secondary editor for the plugin - wherein you can assign MIDI ccs the parameters. But it seems none of the buttons are accessible this way and certainly not the popup menus.

I am working on a program which will convert user-specified MIDI messages to specific Mouse Clicks. By which I shall detect incoming MIDI messages which I shall define and then send clicks at specific points to the Kompakt Window. This does require said Window to be visible but its better than nothing.

Currently, I have tested sending clicks to the Kompakt window and I have successfully got it to load a specific patch into part1 of the default multi.

When there are lots of instruments like the list of Pads it uses a scrollbar which doesnt respond to clicking only dragging. My proposal in any case is to build a list of the instruments/multis (easy to do since they are all discrete files and folders) and then provide easy browsing by copying a chosen file to my predefined fil in my own predefined folder which will simplify the clicks necessary on the menu and thus make the automation easy.

Also once I have the list of instruments I can easily extend my program to provide association of MIDI program change with particular instrument/multi and have them load automatically.

It may even be useful to allow clicking of other buttons in the interface in response to user-defined MIDI msg...

    Anyway, more work to do...

I don't understand the logic behind the lack of keyboard shortcuts and how such a great product (GPO Studio for myself) has such a poor interface. Fonts, color scheme, and larger knobs/sliders would be a good start.

How can it make any business sense for the Kompakt and Intakt libraries to not have any cc support? At least I researched this before I bought them. I was actually looking for bugs and problems, it never crossed my mind I wouldn't be able to control these from a controller. Absolutely unbelievable.

I just read a review from SOS mag of Morphology and they state that all functions can be controller by a midi controller. Here is the paragraph from Sound on Sound Mag, the entire article can be read here http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb05/articles/eastwest.htm

All the various controls can be assigned to a MIDI controller for real-time parameter tweaking by holding down the Control button (on the PC) or the Command button (on the Mac), and then clicking on and moving the required hardware controller.

    So were they mistaken?
