    hi again :D

as you might guess the smile on my face was not put on by the joker.

The Apple service provider i went to will exchange the display next week.

Until then i can keep installing my programs and set up the system :D

    I did not expect that.

I'm sure yours can. Have a look at things like the calendar and alarm/notifications.

Sorry to highjack this thread but whats the best way of looking after your laptop battery. I know the whole drain it at least once a month. I do all that, and do keep my laptop plugged in most the time but i still have a very high cycle count. Supposedly a mac can have a cycle count of roughly 240 before your battery dies, so the apple genius folk tell me. Ive only had my new mac pro 4 months, i checked the cycle count as it is and already its at 190. i dont see how thats possible.

The weird thing is instead of the batteries charging capabilities slowly dwindling, it just wont charge anymore after this time. In my experience anyway. Anyway, if anyone knows the best way to ensure a longer battery life!

In the old days of rechargeable batteries they used to tell you to 'downcharge' them so there was no charge left before you recharge them again to prolong the life but I'm not sure this applies any more with newer battery technology - things have come on a long way in batteries since I last heard this advice :)

I don't have a laptop myself but I can't believe those figures they quote, they seem stupidly low :S

To the OP: How many dead pixels did you have for apple to replace it? I'm really surprised if they are replacing 1 dead pixel. My estimations have gone up :>
