I installed Maschine (2.12.0) a few days prior to today and I have been trying to figure out a way to edit samples on the software and nothing seems to work. After loading up the waveform for a sample either from Splice or from the factory selection (AND WHILE IN SAMPLING MODE ON THE HARDWARE), if I tried any of the sampling functions such as time stretch, truncate, duplicate etc I always receive a message which says "EDITED SAMPLE COULD NOT BE CREATED" as shown in the attached screenshot.

Please I really need help in solving this because I rely on sampling to make music and I really like the software, but this error has really delayed my progress in producing music. If anyone could help I'll truly appreciate it. I am also a Macbook pro user currently using mac osCatalina version 10.15.6.

I have no experience with a Mac.
But could it have to do with rights of the system or files?

Because on my Win system I don't have this problem.

It's definitively a permission issue. Neve had this problem with all my macs.
How many users do you have setup? Are you the admin user of your mac?
Is the library installed in the default location?
    Where is the project stored?
    Give more details..

I am the only user setup on my mac. and I am also the admin user as well. the library is I believe located in the default location which is in the "shared" folder under "users". I have the project saved in the "projects" folder which came with the application. Please see the attached photos and let me know if I am still missing any key details.

You know what I figured it out. I think the questions you asked definitely led me to the solution of the problem. I had originally changed the default location for where the app would be installed to "documents" so that is perhaps why the app was unable to perform any of those functions.

I deleted the Maschine app and changed the default location for the application to "applications" on Native Access and reinstalled Maschine. Now everything seems to be working fine as far as sampling is concerned. (time stretching, truncating etc). Now I know not to ever tamper with default installation locations again lol :). Thanks!

I figured it out. It was an installation path issue. I had changed the default installation location for applications on Native Access and that's when the errors began. and now that I have reverted the installation location to the default location, and the reinstalled Maschine, the sampling function is working just fine. thanks!

I'm sorry, but I don't agree with that.

It's on my system the way I like it!
And i gave up the directory's in NA the way I wish.
And so far that works, with all but one plug-in,
Replika who just doesn't want to disappear from the available tab updates.
This plug-in is likely to suffer from abandonment anxiety. ;-)
But things are still being installed in places where I prefer not to,
because what is the function of having it put in your desired place (install),
but that does not happen then?
    It's a mystery to me.

Macs aren't like Windows René must be Unique where you can put a .exe wherever you feel like, it's designed to have all applications in the same place, especially after you already installed and tons of external files expect the path of the first installation, for a lot of apps the OS will even stop you from running it and tell you to move it to the proper Applications folder or it won't start.
It's possible to use any path with Maschine but the correct way of doing it on a Mac would be to uninstall first and then change the path in NA and install again, NI has no uninstallers for Mac which makes the process annoying as you have to manually scavenge the system for a bunch files.

For the non-tech-savvy users, it's best to leave things where they are designed to be.
