    So first the bad...

Kore 2 is the only highlight of musikmesse 07 so far...
Paid upgrade. (at least we think)
    No midi controller functionality.
Waiting till potentially August 23rd for this ugh!!! I am losing my youth and my patience...
    no dual core support?!
I still wish i could use for example the logic plug ins with it. (I know, I know, its not possible blah blah blah)

    now on to the good...
first I need to point out I think NI with Kore 2 has this time nailed what "I" have been looking for all along...

Kore 2 is the only highlight of musikmesse 07 so far...
Sound Variations and Sound Morphing sounds like fm8 4 quadrant on steroids!!!
Flexible MIDI Routing (simply sounds awesome! can't wait to check it out!)

Integrated helper (as cheesy as it sounds i think this may help some people including me here's to hoping for an interface helper window with an optional video you can watch that shows you "how" to do something, something that is long overdue in ALL music software)

Batch Import: Entire preset programs of 3rd party Audio Unit / VST plug-ins can be imported in one go; after which they are instantly usable as KoreSounds. (!!!! potentially THE most important feature!!!)
does this mean i can ungrey my kompakt and intakt files yet though? or can i import all stylus rmx presets or albino 3 presets REALLY!!! sounds too good to be true are you guys serious!? I hope you are!

    Faster plug-in pre-listening

Integrated audio engines do what exactly?

Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator (YES!!!!! I REALLY hope that NI expands on these drum creator various midi filters, etc. can i apply these on an individual koresound and keep adding them though like 5 pro-53 kore single sounds with step sequencers and maybe 5 absynth 4 kore single sounds with different arps?)

just had to throw my 2 cents everyone else by all means do the same:)

    cheers,
    Kendrick

There are some good ideas and improvements announced. (we will see how and if they work, i just remember what was announced about kore 1...). But there are a lot of frustrated kore 1 users out there who paid for an unfinished and buggy product. thats the point.
again bad policy like complete care 2006

Agreed. I have not used Kore in ANY project I've done for nearly one year. During that time, I've played with Kore for about 4 hours total (and not in any project that matters!), and I spent way more time troubleshooting problems that should not exist in the first place (most notably for me, the horrible, unoptimized USB bandwidth hogging). I will not trust NI hardware until they have a better reputation in that regard.

"does this mean i can ungrey my kompakt and intakt files yet though?"

why would your kompakt and intakt files be greyed? Do you have kompakt and intakt? If you have them, they are accessible, if you don't, they aren't.

For the record I LOVE komplete 4. Sounds are awesome. Plugins rarely crash (when not loaded into KORE).

I am not in love with kore (hate is too strong a word, I've already divorced it and moved on with my life). It's not production ready. It's not live ready. It's a paper weight. Or a cute toy if you don't mind it spoiling your groove with crashing and lock ups and weird glitches when using it.

Kore 1.1 did NOT fix critical stability bugs, and gave me no significant feature improvements (dongleless many people like, true, but I find loss of portability to be a cost that more than makes up for dongleless, so it wasn't a feature "improvement" but a feature "change").

Selling Kore 2 software to Kore 1 users will be a GIANT slap in the face. I haven't completely turned against NI because I really like their other products. However, unless they roll out a KORE 1 patch that addresses the bugs and missing features we guinea pigs expected the program to offer. Then you can charge us a reasonable fee for an upgrade.

If they don't roll out a REAL working update of Kore 1, AND try to charge me for Kore 2 "upgrade" I will never buy another NI product again. Whatever goodwill they have earned by other products will be used up by most professionals who trusted the hype of NI advertising of Kore 1, only to realize they were advertising Kore 2 but selling us an expensive beta test version in the form of Kore 1.

For a FLAGSHIP product, the lack of WORKING updates is ridiculous. I'm willing forgive them if KORE 2 works, and they let us upgrade for free (or give us an equivelant bug fix update to Kore 1). Otherwise NI is dead to me.

I'm hoping the delay in announcing the plans for KORE 1 is because the developers and owners of NI are fighting with the investors and are currently convincing them that charging for the upgrade will cost them more money than not sticking us with an upgrade cost, since we will NOT put up with that, and we will drop NI because they have become a predatory company that sell inferior products.

Let me try to some up my feelings:

PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMERS WHO DON'T PIRATE SOFTWARE WILL NOT PAY FOR BUG FIXES! AND WILL STOP BUYING YOUR SOFTWARE.

I feel Kompletely ripped off! Kore 1 has worked properly for 5 days over 5 months. And now this poorly run company makes the bad decision to release new hardware and have us believe that it will last longer then 5 months. I have quite a bit influence in the music business and I will be promptly informing people not to make the same mistake that I did. I spoke with techs at NI on numerous occasions and they assured me that Kore was there flagship product. If this is their flagship product, what does this say about other products. I have been involved in the music business for 20 plus years. Buyer beware this product does not work as advertised.
If I am going to beta test a companies hardware I will be paid for it, not pay them. It's hard to piss me off, but NI has done it.
    Don't buy Kore.

Jason I understand what your saying but here's the deal I am an intel only based Mac User so those plug-ins will "never" be made for me I would love to hear the combo sounds personally but I never will because NI does not feel the need for any intel mac user to hear them I do believe all that would be needed is a .ksd sample library overhaul and import into Kontakt 2 and a replacement for kompakt or intakt in the plug in library for those multisounds would also be necessary and as such I am at NI's "mercy".

In addition I wish NI would reply to me about this because as of right now about 1/3rd of those multisounds do not work for me until the universal binarys come out either :(
EW, anyone? like to comment on both of these things please?!

I REALLY am trying to stay positive and besides some growing pains I really LOVE the concept of Kore and KORE 2 is MUCH, MUCH closer to what I envisioned it being...

    cheers,
    Kendrick

I agree with you I love the K4 sounds but KORE? What a joke it is useless and way to buggy.
And now they have the nerve to sell us all a new version I'M done.
