You know... Tempsperdu and HammyHavoc ... I was reading your comments with delight. What you both say make sense really. First of all, I'm some kinda musician, I play the piano since I'm 8 years, totally selftaught. Recently I started to get interrested in "That wonderfull digital world" full of color and shiny buttons and incredible rotarry things! (LOL)... And when you don't know a thing about Midi, about Controlers, about "Workflow", it is really intimidating. I started buying what was more natural to me: the keyboard (NI KK 61MK2), then, I realized that to make my music I needed a DAW... I almost bought a Mashine hardware, be cause of the videos you can see on the NI website, it looks like you can arrange and mix all your track into a finished "Opus" with that kinda magical (it looks magical in the advs) integration KKS61MK2 - MASHINEMK3. But, no.... so I bought Ableton Life... I'm not sure I did the best choice, but did I have any? It says on the NI website "COmplete Ableton Integration", Seamless.... Well, not so true.... Now that I managed to produce some musics, I would like to play them..... Once again: I know nothing about DJ, so.... If I'm gonna buy a Traktor? Maybe... but once more: witch one? S2? S4?

All this to explain that nowdays we are in front of thousands of possibilities when it comes to gears... All brand claim to get THE best solution for YOUR workflow... but no one shows the beginner what should be the best workflow! :) Or, you have to do like the Appl's Users.... stick to the brand no matter what? "I promiss to be faithfull to NI, buy everything NKS gods tell me to buy" :))))))

About the youtuber, you are right.... it is almost impossible to have a eral unbiased review... and most of them are useless.

"Music Production" is here, available to anyone nowadays, no need to have musical background... It doesnt mean you will be a good producer anyway, but surely it will help companies to sell a lot of crap around the world. And with the harware, the software, and with all that, the million online courses about "how to be a music producer", "how to know synth", "how to be a pro-mixer in 3 weeks", "10 tips to transform your bad tunes in wonderful masterpieces". :))) Man! Sorry if I'm writing a lot of silly things but it is like a newbee puking its guts!

I got musical background and i'm quite lost here! hahahahah I got Komplete Kontrol, thousands and thousands of presets, infinite power in my hands with the bests VSTs, got a Pro DAW, and here I am.... spending freauently 8+ hours to find the sound preset I wanna start with!

Well.... Maybe I should stop staying awake so late... I always start to get somewhat crazy because of the lack of sleep!

C u! Have sweet dreams and a great life!

you sound like me in the beginning. I have always been intimidated by the knobs and seemingly infinite parameters and what not, but just decided to start with what i know and ask questions and research as i went along....many hours of frustration, insomnia and sleep deprivation through work, but i've come quite a long way and i feel like my musical talent was able to shine though after just 3-4 months with dedication and hard work. The frustration was unreal so I feel OP's pain, but we are actually at a time now where it is the EASIEST to do this. Just think about that ;)

    that's TOO humble ;)

I knew i was always talented, just sucked at understanding and applying the theory/technology/science behind it all.

Unfortunately there's no easy way round spending the time and money to actually find out what is right for you and what you need and in more cases what you don't.
I feel for you having got KK MK2 thinking it did far more than it actually does. The advertising goes a long way to making that appear so. Actually getting Maschine would probably have been 'safer' but how do you find that out .. you wouldn't be able to second guess it and sadly some companies operate on too close to a buyer beware strategy which is oddly seen as almost being acceptable in todays 'caring' society.

Yeah, well. I think there are two path.. the first is being really picky, and instead of taking advantage of the things we have, just keeping using manufacturer mistake as excuses. The other path is... taking what we get and doing the best we can with it.
Sure, sometime it is a shame and the profits of the industry are above the customer. It is a pitty. BUT the wonderful community we have here is full of great resources... I found some people here with such high technical knowledge.
I think my problem at this point is in fact being able to absorve the technical part to take it off the grid, you know... like when you practice scale on an instrument to create muscle memory...

The path is long, sometime frustrating, sometime great but always we learn!

    Cheers to all from Brazil!
