I love Traktor as program but the lack of HID support for regular controllers like the DDJ SX brand is mind boggling. All other DJ software vendors have been giving this to it's users for years now. It shouldn't be that the only controllers working with your software tightly is only the hardware you sell.

All the issues with lag with other controllers is due to you not putting internal maps in the software. I prefer Traktor as a program but had to stop using it about 3 years ago because of this... I'm sure i'm not alone.

    DDJ-SX is a Serato controller.

I don't think they have. Has Serato certified the Z2? The S4? The only vendor I know of who deliberately makes sure their software works with almost everything is Atomix/VDJ. Also, I don't know if you've noticed but vendors are increasingly trying to make sure we buy into their eco-system particularly when they make both hardware and software. Simply put, they don't want rival software working on their kit. NI is not exceptional in this in any way.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree mate. I'd love for all DJ software to work with everything but in the same way we don't have open format for tagging and beatgridding in software, likewise we will never witness the beautiful concept of a DJ simply picking the hardware he likes and have it work perfectly with the software he likes.
We are limited by the resctrictions *all* the manufacturers choose to place upon us.

imagine back when the ddj sx2 came out, it got traktor certified. I think that could have saved traktor while they wrote traktor 3 as it was everything an S4 mk3 should of been.
