I had many drum machine, from little boss products to large roland product, and of course akai... I remember my first encounter with maschine, i just got my roland mv, i was loving it, and then i went to someone house and he had this thing, it was thin, it wasn't a mpc, or a mv, and he was like look what i bought, funny he didn't even know how to use it, lol.... as soon as i look at it i was like two screens, what the hell is that... as i looked closer, it hit me, holy sh*t... i can work this thing, and i never even touched it, thats when i knew i had to get me one, two days later i had mine, disconnected my mv, put up my akai, i actually learned how to use computer based software like logic studio because of Maschine, i know what a damn vst is now, lol... i was so into sound modules, and daisy chaining, that i didn't want to use a computer for nothing but recording audio, and that was limited too.... what i'm saying is Maschine, has pushed the bar for me... i hope you guys embrace it as well, i see it will only get better... now only if i can figure out a way to make logic a slave to maschine lol... enjoy guys

I agree, Maschine is the best music production product to come out in a very long time, bridging the gap between old tech and new tech. Allowing many to move away from the old gear into the new technology, plus it keeps getting better and more innovative.

Nothing is stopping it man, NI hit it out the park with this concept.

I agree, I've never been this excited about a product, and never felt so unlimited. I just know it will continue to get better, but right now as it is, I don't want to use anything else to make music lol.

this thing is amazing for sure.

I agree maschine is tight, it's one of the best pieces of gear that I've purchased it even trumps my first cassette 4 track recorder.:D
But seriously once NI addresses the midi CC issue, transport, song mode improvements, timestretching, multiformat import or ability to use vsts then it will be totally invincible, not even kryptonite would be able to stop it.:)

I too am feeling in love

I got mine tuesday and I got the hang of this pretty good already. Still early, but this could very well put my mpc3kle in decoration mode! Got the latest beta on my imac and sony vaio and its running just fine on both! This is my first post and I'm happy to be able to join NI and its community to discuss and learn the maschine and more of their products.

    glad we all agree...

thanks guys for agreeing with me, cause i surely agree with you guys..., NI hit a grand slam with this product, even when it was at is very early stages this thing put my mpc's and mv8000 on the shelf, its smaller, all my sounds is on a computer that i love, 24in imac 4gig ram 500hdd, and three external hdd totaling around 2 tera, and maschine now that i converted most my sounds to wav and aiff can read, possibilities are endless, now gave me vst control and midi program/channel change, and i wouldn't even need logic for a host, but no matter what, maschine is the first thing i load up when my computer comes on, i truely do love maschine life is so simple now that i can use hardware/computer/software in one unity.

I've pretty much stopped using anything else since I got Maschine last year in February (early adopter, got one of those cool units with the F1/F2 keys). I used to use Logic for all of my stuff, I was never happy with it in-terms of just getting in and doing something. You have to deal with too much technical stuff before you can just make a beat. With Maschine I drop a beat get it as close to what I want to hear as possible then go into logic to add instrumentation. Totally changed up my workflow. So much so I'm think of going with Live instead because it seems to compliment Maschine more.

Which version is the newer model, the one that has the F1/F2 keys or the one that has the snap/autowrite keys?

I too love my Maschine. And since it's not working for me right now, I'm kinda depressed. I have to find away around this problem, otherwise I'm gonna go nuts with out my baby!

i also love my maschine. i spend years to build some similar in reaktor, but there are too much limitations. first of all the cpu. i wish NI had released it for years, so i had saved a lot of time. and i wish i had never bought kore, than that was a ridiculous piece of "workstation" and i lost my trust in NI. and so i waited too long to buy maschine.
but now i´m quite happy and the only things i really painfull miss are a better performance mode (with options of the behaviar of the mode-buttons und coustumisible knobs, buttons and pads, etc. and a fast-and-dirty set of "pre-wired" midi CC which evry time for EVRY selected sound work) and the possiblity to record and edit the performance.

The newer model is the one with the snap/autowrite buttons.

Thanks for the answer Lotuz. I had purchased maschine, months ago, and it had the f1/f2 buttons but I had to take it back 2 days later because two of the knobs were rubbing and when the Guitar Center replaced it it had the snap/autowrite, I wondered if it was the older or newer model.
    Thanks.
