I just don't understand why it is they don't add any more functionality to the app to make it the best it can be.

I get that iMaschine is meant to be a "sketch pad", that's all well and good. But you have a forum with countless requests for a pro version. Why are all of these posts/requests falling on deaf ears.

I have Beatmaker2 and i use my QuNeo with it while on the road and it's amazing how much further I can take a "sketch" with this combo. Only issue that I have is having to move everything over to my Mac which can prove tedious at times. The only reason I even bother with iMaschine is I am hoping that one day I'll be able do the same with it.

Already purchased iMPC Pro and the MPC Element is next on the list. If that combo with the inclusion of the MPC software proves more easier to transition than BM2, I'm afraid the only item I'll stick with for NI would be Komplete Ultimate.

Yep that's about it. Even a simple grid edit page would help. I guess you're aware that the promised iMCPro > MPC export feature is stuck in limbo, which kind of ruins a very nice app.

    But it's in the works.

Which means at some point it will work.

What's in the works for iMaschine???

    I know..... A new expansion.

    Lol

Yeah, I give up on imaschine and iMPC. They both try too hard to figure out ways to limit our options. I think I will delete them both and free up space for...................Beathawk baby!

I like using imaschine to just sketch out ideas. That's the whole point of it. It really doesn't benefit to waste time on here if you hate it. Just uninstall it, and move on. It's to get new customers interested and to move up and buy the mikro, maschine studio or mid size version.

That is what worked for me, first got i Maschnie then upgraded to Mikro.
BUT, anyway, I pro version of iMaschine would be the awesome - If they made it possible to connect your maschine mikro to your ipad/iphone (just like they do it with Z1) I do not think this would cut into maschine sales - I think Maschine Mikro sales would go right through the roof.
Not to speak of all the money they would make with people upgrading to the pro version ...

Limiting iMaschine to just being a sketch pad is a waste of time. It has the potential to be so much more and there are no technical barriers preventing it from reaching that potential. Going after new customers is cool, but satisfying existing customers is also something NI has to maintain. They have gradually yet grudgingly added more features to imaschine but only after receiving feedback from their customers via forums such as this:)

I agree. It is always about the operator-not the machine itself. If only those files from iMachine would open in Machine. So far it is not possible.
Using 1.7.2 upgrading right now.I'll see.I hoped that it will be importable so I will be able to continue on the sketches.

What do you mean? The files do open up in Maschine. When you export them via iTunes and extract the zip -- you should have a maschine project file. Launch them from within maschine.

    THIS

Did I really expect the same Maschine experience in iMaschine for $5? No, but NI hyped it up enough to seem like you could. I'd actually pay a few more bucks for some extra features. I mean, they have MUCH more capable apps on iOS but I liked the idea of having something familiar and transferable into my current set-up.

Same here! (NI If you are listening!!)

I am a big Maschine fan and loyal NI customer. When I switched to using an iPad for music, the first app i picked up was iMaschine. Now that I have some more hands on experience with it and other music apps on the iPad platform I have a bit better perspective on iMaschine. It does fulfill the bare minimum of what NI claim in to do, that is its a sketch pad idea type app. But really, when you start to see what other music apps are out there and how much more capable they are and how much more you can do with them, iMaschine is really quite a poor performer in the iPad music app market space. Given NI's size and technical know how, I really think they can put out something much better and much more feature rich and more stable and capable in the iPad music scene. There is no reason why NI can't put together something that is targeted to be priced in the $20 to $30 app price range and have it compete with the likes of Sugar Bytes / Egoist or even something more powerful and have it compete with Korg / Gadget which hovers in the $30 to $40 app price range.

Would sketches / songs made on korg gadget app be cross load able back into maschine studio? Would audio bus allow in apps to be connected in parallel, or does it only allow apps to be plugged up in series. The korg sequencer doesn't allow access to external sounds/ ,programms, where as I belive the maschine does?
    Sorry for the newby questions!

iMaschine is an add on for people who have the real thing.
Sketch out quick snippets of ideas and then expand them on the real thing.
That's what it's for. any more would be guff.
If you want to make a full peice of music only on ios don't use iMaschine.

I don't believe that the few key feature request myself and others have requested are to much to ask for considering that similar apps in the same price range have them.

    Am I wrong?

I just got the feeling people want too much from something that's supposed to be basic.
    Sorry. Maybe I'm easily pleased.
