Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to the mixing scene. I have a Vestax VCI-100, imac, and traktor scratch pro. As some of you may know the vcii-100 doesn't have an onboard soundcard, so I purchased the Numark DJio to help me que tracks using headphones... the only problem is im pretty clueless how to set that up in traktor.

So here's what i want to be able to do.

Play the main track(s) through my speakers (built in input) and be able to que tracks through my external soundcard using headphones.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

    Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas pb125 --

Funny you mention this. I just gave my niece a DJIO as a present to solve the same issue as you describe. I went hunting for solutions just this morning and came up with this workaround -->

When you want to get Traktor 3 working with two different sound cards you have to do the following:

    1. Install ASIO4ALL (http://www.asio4all.com) ==> Enable both sound cards through the GUI

    2. Restart Traktor ==> Select new "virtual" device and assign all channels as you would do with a multi-port card

The instructions were originally for Traktor 3 but I assume that it will be pretty much the same set up on Traktor Pro.

I am going to give this a try later today on my niece's laptop, will post my results here afterward.

Will be rather hard to work out on an Imac :)

So 1st, install the card's drivers (i Suppose you already done it)

in Traktor Pro select it as audio device in the audio setup tab.

then in the Output routing tab, choose your mixing mode (internal I suppose), and select the
As the DJ IO has 3 outputs: 2 RCAs at the back and a 3/4 jack on the front you'll have to figure out which is the right one if they are not named usually, master should be the 1st one, and monitor should be the headphone's one.

Important info on USB devices from the ASIO4ALL FAQ:

Q: Any hints on using ASIO4ALL with USB devices?

A: After some initial troubles with earlier revisions, the driver now appears to work just fine with numerous USB devices. one thing to not do, I mean: not ever! is to check the DMA box with USB devices. If you do not need all the additional software gizmos like EAX, EQ, Fake3D-Whatever... it is recommended that you _not_ install the drivers shipped with your USB audio interface. Windows has a built-in generic USB audio driver that works with most devices. Thus, if you want to have honest, no-nonsense, low-latency audio playback/recording with your USB audio interface - by all means: stick with the Windows driver! This is especially true for consumer grade stuff, where you can be assured that the drivers shipped with it are most likely 'consumer grade' as well.

empolo, the main issue there is that asio4all is Windows only. And pb125 owns an Imac

Yep, I just re-read the first post again. That's what I get for going to bed at 2 AM on Christmas Eve.

On the other hand, I'm not used to seeing 'imac' in all lower case so my sleepy eyes skipped right over that critical piece of info. :)

I am having a similar problem. I have the Vestex VCI-100 (sans soundcard) so I want to use the Mac's outs. I have the internal ouput (the 1/8" port) and I also have an iMic. In Audio Setup, I can choose EITHER one. Each have 2 output each (R and L). So, I can map only the Master Output but cannot map the iMic to the Monitor Output. Now maybe this is expected but if you are using the Mac's outputs, this should work with cueing. I had it working with Traktor 3.

And I tried to use a Hercules MK2 as a soundcard but the cueing works horribly: I can hear both decks songs in both of the outputs (EVEN with the fader set to one deck) and the same happens in the Monitor output the MK2 has (besides the 2 sets of outputs).

Seeing other threads, it seems this issue is profligate for multiple hardware (seen a thread with the same issue on Behringer as well as the Numark DJio mentioned in this post).
