    Man...

This is soo confusing and I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could tell me where I should put everything.

    My setup:

    Quad G5 PPC Mac
    2 internal drives ( Main is 250GB and 2nd one is 500GB )
    One external drive (500GB)

Now, I installed Komplete 4 and am now wondering what goes where. What I mean is, there are files in my Documents folder (sample libraries) there are presets in my HDD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Shared Content >

    ??

What do I do? Should EVERYTHING but the main programs go on my 2nd internal drive? I put some libraries on there and that seemed to work okay but when, for example, I put the contents of the * HDD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Shared Content > * on the 2nd internal drive, apparently Absynth won't work ( didnt try any othe NI programs)

If you had my setup, how/what would you do?

Thanks for any help. I am just trying to set this system up as optimally as I can and being a noob isnt helping matters LOL!

You can move your sample libraries to where you want. Run the apps in standalone afterwards; you'll either set the new path to the sample libraries in the options menu or the app will ask you where you moved it to.

As to the stuff in the shared content folder, DO NOT move any of that. That's the default path for the factory libraries for the new instruments such as FM8 and Absynth (it's put there primarily for compatibility with KORE), and shouldn't be tampered with.

How did you finally set it up

Hi, I read your post and you said you figured it out. What did you do? How did you set it up?

I currently have my internal HD with KORE loaded and everything else is loaded on my External HD. I have libraries all about and sound banks. For example, my Pro-53 library is in Applications > Native Instruments > Pro-53 > Library

My Kontact samples are located on my ext. HD in the root under Kontact Library.

Should I just create a central folder with all of the Libraries except for the Shared Content?

No. Your sample libraries can be anywhere. With instruments where you can set paths for factory and/or user content folders (for example, Absynth and Reaktor), the folders you can set paths for can be anywhere. Otherwise, the libraries have to be where the installer puts them.
