Hello, bought Kore 2 on craigslist, but the software was already registered, and it never got sorted out. At the end, I now have the controller, but only the demo software. Right now, I am using Maschine, Reason, and soon Logic. Is there any use in me keeping the controller without the software? I also have an MPK25 which has transport controls, etc.

u can always use it as a midi controller or soundcard :) but the last thing ain't that stable u can also buy the software on the site i think

btw Kore is a very unstable program to use even on a mac pro 8-kore with 10gig of ram ;)

Unfortunately, I can confirm that. A lot of this might be attributed due to the need to 'bridge' all that to 32 bit.

However, I guess we should not be too far away from a 64bit version which hopefully is stable....

If it's a Kore 2 controller, you can NOT use it as a soundcard.

both Maschine and Kore require hard and software to operate....

i hope you've learned your lesson.

You can use both the Maschine and Kore 2 controllers as generic midi controllers...so you only need a computer program that can send and receive midi.

Both work great with Traktor or Reaper and many other Software programs.

Hopefully Kore 3 is coming soon and will have both the software only and hardware + software combo available. The Kore 2 software does not require you to have the controller, but the controller does require you to have the software. (unless it's used just as a midi controller). I would hang on to it a little longer and see what NI does in the next few months..

Kore keeps crashing on me as a VST in Maschine. drives me nuts. I even removed it from my dock as to not be tempted to launch it. Needs an update bad.
