I wish there were more Maschine jam videos and creative uses of Maschine in general.

I feel like they are all the same out there.. just trying to teach you this or that, going over features etc.
Where are the vids with the creative side of things? Everyone is doing things in a pretty uniform way.

I would love to make some videos of how I use it to get things done fast and a unique trick or two but don't have the time to do it.
Post your favorite maschine videos that are super cool or creative. Not tutorials or just some dude trying to show you the song he's making.

Huh.. IMO the Trutorials from NI have a substantial amount of intermediate/advanced uses of Maschine and there are like a hundred of them or something.

I wish there were the song layer and more updates to Jam in general. Along with MCU on MK2, and the plethora of other promised features that are missing.

On this creative uses topic, what do you guys think it's better, a long video with a bunch of tips or a bunch of shorter individual videos?

Shorter individual videos. Then just make a playlist.

I think shorter is much better.

    1. You can get right to the point and get the information you are looking for rather than watching an hour long vid for a tip buried at 38:52.

    2. You can easily find information targeted to what you are looking for via search engines if the video is appropriately named and tagged.

    3. A shorter video focuses the content creator and generally results in less fluff and tangential escapades.

    4. Editing a short video takes less time so there may be less procrastination/overwhelming feeling of having to edit a long video on the part of a content creator. Hopefully, this leads to more frequent content for those of us consuming.

I agree, I think it's much better for the viewers, for the creators it depends since Youtube does benefit 10min+ videos and "top 5/10 tips for XYZ" generate a lot of more clicks.

As a newbie I much prefer shorter, focused, videos vs long all encompassing ones.

Personally, I really loved the bitesize Trutorial videos, really sparked a few ideas with approaching the same hardware/software from a different angle that I hadn't considered before.

I might be a lone voice, but I prefer longer videos.
That said, I just appreciate anyone who'll freely share their knowledge in whatever way works for them, you know what I mean.

Longer as in more in-depth or several tips/tricks in the same video?

    Both actually.
I like in depth because you can pick up workflow tips just by watching how someone else works as well as the point of the content.
I like lots of tips together because searching through lots of vids is something I can do to much of... so having them in one place is better for my time management.

Both have their place. I'm hard-pushed for time, so I love the bitesized videos like Trutorials, but if I want concepts explained and a detailed look at something, long videos work too. Depends on the kind of information being dispensed. One thing I truly loathe (which put me off YouTube for a few years) is padding and filler on a video. I understand that YouTube ad money improves with a longer video, but when there's a 10 minute video to show 30 seconds of true functionality, I simply don't have the time.

With that said, there are some brilliant long-form videos out there, and videos that aren't long or short, they're exactly the length they need to be in order to convey the information necessary. Reaper has two prominent, dedicated and hard-working YouTubers who produce a mix of lengths, but they're always concise, and exactly the length they need to be.
